Mr. Morris Eugene Pate, Jr., age 73 of Douglasville, GA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his residence.


Mr. Pate was born on February 28, 1941 in Columbus, GA the son of the late Morris Eugene Pate, Sr. and the late Mary Wilson Pate. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Pate worked as a truck driver with the ABF Freight Lines and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling and competition shooting. He is also preceded in death by a half-brother, Wayne Wilson.


Mr. Pate is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sarah Jane Shaw Pate; son, Michael Pate and his wife, Barbara of Walnut Grove; three daughters, Delta Jones and her husband, Bobby of Covington, Alicia Weaver of Albany, NY, Melinda Garmon and her husband, Greg of Powder Springs; six grandchildren, Eric Pate, Lindsey Womack, Clifford “C” Bratcher and his wife, Jennifer, Kyle Bratcher, Paige Garmon and Jayce Garmon; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Cochran Smith and her husband Bill and Linda Rabon and her husband, Ron, all of Sharpsburg; and many other beloved family and friends.


Memorial services for Mr. Pate will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.
