Why iz it that the libtards want NO one to own a gun that could possibly defend against a CORRUPT government?

Az long az everyone marched to tha beat of the socialist drum.

If said government were of a theological rule demanding that EVERYONE must obey the teachings of the Bible, then you can bet your sweet __ss that they would be all in favore of an armed citizenship.

Just sayin

The point I was trying to make at the start of this thread was that the same arguments that are used by those who want more laws against drugs are basically the same arguments that are used by those wanting more gun laws.

Yet, I see those who use these arguments for more gun laws, then say that these same arguments are ineffective when used by those wanting more strict drug laws.

My point is, you can't have it both ways.

If you want stricter laws against what guns someone can own and what they can do with them, then you better not say that strickter laws against drugs do nothing to stop drug use.

As always I guess it comes down to what you want, is what is good.

Like to smoke a little pot, pot laws are bad.

Don't like guns, owning guns is bad.

Like to drink a little booze, no Sunday sales are bad.

Like to have hanky panky with the same sex, not being able to marry the same sex is bad.

There are those who like to have sex with kids, they even have an orginization that advocates that laws against having sex with kids 8,9 & 10 years old, is bad.

Oh well, round and round we go.

People who are anti gun and anti drugs take that position because they do not want YOU to have guns or drugs.

Same as Sunday alcohol sales, it is not because they want to stop themselves from buying alcohol on Sunday it is because they want to stop YOU.

It is the only way they can force their will on other people.

But ... but ... but are you a sayin that it's only okay for men ta have sex with boyz in North America, and not anywhere else?

You would have to ask them, I am not a member nor do I agree with their ideas.

Another thought, alcohol kills more people, ruins more families, harms more children than guns ever do.

Yet, no one is on here advocating that alcohol be made illegal or be made harder to get.

Instead, I see posts with people jumping up and down because they can't get their booze when and where they want.

Why is that?

(here is my take on their answer to my question)

"Well, it is because I like to take a little nip now and then and besides it is not fair to ban or make something harder to get for everyone just because some can't handle their booze."

"Also, we have laws that say what they can and cannot do when drinking and that is all we need."

Huh, that sounds a lot like the pro gun crowds argument doesn't it.

I'm for the legalization of marijuana and I'm for your right to own a handgun/shotgun.

I'm against legislation legalizing meth and I'm against your right to own an AR-15.

Relatively harmless sheeze should be legal while ridiculously dangerous sheeze should be illegal. Doesn't seem all that confusing to me?

Let me see if I understand you.

You decide what is "relatively harmless sheeze" and what is "ridiculously dangerous sheeze", huh.

Because we certainly differ in our opinions.

Come on mrnn, admit it, your toking right now aint cha.

Is this gun thread #267? I can't keep up.

The same points have been made over and over and over. Few people here have an open enough mind to hear the other side, so what's the point? Everyone has an agenda. 20 kids are dead and its now somehow a liberal vs conservative issue? Why aren't we working together to find a solution? Everyone is worried about their guns. For the most part, I'm sure your guns are safe. Now, how bout we put half of the same passion into keeping our kids safe. Might go a long way...

Amen! It seems on here, Facebook, other forums, real life friends and relatives just don't seem to understand that no one is calling to outlaw guns or abolish the 2nd amendment. I want to see some lunatic have to go on the black market to purchase military-grade semi-automatic weapons with high capacity magazines, not just run up to WalMart.

And I want to see a specail permit needed tp buy alcohol, not just run up to Walmart.

Especially since alcohol does more damage to people in this country than any gun.

(ok, I really don't want to see a special permit, but my argument is more valid than mrnn's)

The legislators we voted into office, ya know, those guys who create law, are supposed to determine what is relatively harmless and what poses a threat to the public. The idea that a joint is illegal while owning a weapon that can kill a hundred people in less than 10 minutes isn't is, well, rather disturbing.

I can do just as much damage with a semi-automatic hand gun I purchased from walmart as I can with a semi-automatic military grade weapon from walmart..

Now what?

Like I said, I guess it comes down to what you like to do.

And I hope that your "kill a hundred people in less than 10 minutes" was just an over statement for effect.

Really? So, in your heart, you believe that people, all people, will untimely, act right? How many times does that have to be proven wrong?

It hasnt been. Worked quite well with nuclear weapons. And if everyone has the ability to kill you easily, well Ide imagine you might not want to piss that person off.

People who are anti gun and anti drugs take that position because they do not want YOU to have guns or drugs.

Exactly. If you dont like guns, dont buy one. If you dont like others around you having guns, go to England. If you dont like the music, change the station, because telling the radio that rock is the devils music makes you look retarded.

I can do just as much damage with a semi-automatic hand gun I purchased from walmart as I can with a semi-automatic military grade weapon from walmart..

Now what?

Ill top that, I can do MORE damage with a zip gun I made with 7 dollars worth of parts from home depot. Maybe we should make PIPE illegal! OH HEAVENS TO BETSY!!!!!!!

I can do more damage with a shotgun than an AR-15. and furthermore the AR-15 comes in several calibers. Including .22LR. Not to mention there are semi automatic shotguns with high capacity magazines. Your argument is lacking knowledge and substance. Again.

Nah, my position is arm every citizen. Have you ever seen a bad guy when you show him what your carrying??

As in the government provide us all guns or do they force us to buy something we may not want?

Another point that is being glossed over is that legalization of drugs could very well lead to a reduction of gun violence.

Bullet proof glass. No exceptions.

Double entry doors with the set that's more inside unable to open except when the outer ones are operated properly OR from the inside such as when a panic alarm is used (that would keep the kids safe during fire and they would be able to exit).

At least one teacher per hall who is armed. Don't force any of them to be but ask for volunteers. If they all want to be armed, let them be.

As the brother of a Columbine victim said when interviewed right after Newtown, we have armed guards in banks protecting our money. Is our money really more valuable than the children?

nea.gif

We can put an ARMED GUARD at each school, at the only entrance that is accesible without an issued badge.

"Cobb County schools have badge scanners at every door except the front door.

Kennesaw requires firearms.

Couldn't agree with you more about the legalization of some drugs. Yes, it would go a long way toward reducing gun violence.

I'll take it that you still have not done any research into edged wepons vs guns have you? I would rather try to disarm person with an AR 15 any day over a gun. But with that statement you must consider that i would be unarmed and actuly have the NEED to disarm them, meaning "closing the gap". That would be very scary with an AR15 but once done the gun will be mine.:drinks: Once you close the gap on an edged weapon person, you are now in the world of some serious hurt. You may win, you may not but you WILL get cut is a valid statment.

While we are atit there are many useless dangerous cars out there that i think we need to ban if we are ging to ban things because they are scary.

Does that make us safer? That just means that lunatics can buy whatever they want without having to worry about pesky background checks or tracking of their purchase.
