Rainy was called on to be with God tonight.

Recommended Posts

Like I posted in the Community thread, her kids all came over here this evening with lots of pictures. My aunt scanned all of them and I am now "dressin" them up a little so I can make a pic CD. I'm going to find the purtiest one and post it on her initial thread. Her kids were okay with that (I wanted to ask them first to make sure it was okay). It was very comforting to have all of her kids over here and to just talk and go through the pictures. We all had a good time thinking & talking about her. I've only dated her for about 5 months, so it was intriguing and fun to hear all the funny and great stories the kids told me as we went through the pics. :)

Forgive me on this late hour, but an incredibly wonderful woman just became part of Heaven tonight. My girlfriend, Lorraine, passed away about 2-3 hours ago. She has moved on to a much better place. Thank you all for your prayers. While she has moved up to a better place, I am reminded that we are all still here to do God's work, in spite of the adversity we all face each day. I will always miss you, "Rainy".

Some of you may know that she had a week long "full" recovery (nothing short of a miracle in itself). The recover baffled the dr's and nurse's alike. However, me and Rainy had this feeling that this was God going out of His way to provided her with a short, and very lucid time to say our good byes to each other, and to her kids...and my kids. Prayer STILL works, otherwise I don't think this would have been possible. Thank you all for your support!! I love you folks, and I really means that. :)

My family and I are so very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in our prayers. We know what it's like when you lose a loved one especially near a holiday. I lost my Dad two days after Christmas and my husband lost his on Valentines Day. The only comfort we have is knowing that they are in a better place and not suffering anymore. We are the ones left to suffer. It's how we live our lives after they are gone that reflects how they lived and the wonderful people that they were. We have the memories and the love. You are definately in our prayers.

Yes. I've know Steph for many many years. We lived in the same neighborhood as teens. Actually so did your Rainy. I've known her brother Duane since I was 15.

Wow! It's a small world. I knew that when I pulled up at the church where the service was held today- it was the same church I played in during my teen years, and the same pastor I had known since I was about 15-16 years old.

The service was very nice, and I think it helped to bring closure to the kids and extended family and friends. I was up really late last night scanning and cleaning up pictures for their slide show. Everything went well, and I think everyone is relieved that Rainy is finally at rest and no longer having to suffer.

I will remove this thread later tonight, so I can move on. But I want to thank ALL of you fine people for your prayers and kind words. You have all been a great source of strength and help to me during this time, more than you know. Rainy's Memorial Service was yesterday, and it finally brought closure to all of us. I know she is in a better place now. My head was actually clear this morning and I was able to work much better than I had been the past 3 or more weeks.

Thank you all again. I wish I had better words to express that, but "thank you" is the best I can do. :)
