Mrs. Dora Mae Jones, age 57, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on September, 1, 2012 at her residence.

 

 

 

Dora was born on January 17, 1955 in Cedartown, GA to loving parents the late Mr. Walter Pierce and Mrs. Dora Hicks Pierce. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Mrs. Edith Callahan and Mrs. Pat Griffith; and an infant granddaughter Stephanie Michelle Gentry.

 

 

 

She worked as a Para-pro for the Paulding County School System and was a baker at Kroger. She enjoyed sewing and crochet, flower gardening and making flower arrangements. She also enjoyed baking cakes and was a wonderful "southern cook". Dora was of the Baptist Faith.

 

 

 

Mrs. Dora Mae Jones is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years Mr. Calvin Lamar Jones, Sr., whom she married March 25, 1977; three daughters Ms. Jenny Gentry, Ms. Tara Lentz and Fiancé Jami Davis, Ms. Melissa Jones; one son Mr. & Mrs. Calvin (Rhonda) Jones all of Dallas, GA; ten grandchildren Tyler Lentz, Hunter Lentz, Jase Davis, Brittany Gentry, Hannah Gentry, Alisha Roberts, McKayla Jones, Jennifer Upton, Rhylie Upton, and Bella Upton; one great grandson Mason Gentry; three sisters Mrs. Bertha Wesson, Mrs. Mary Giles both of Rome, GA, and Mrs. Rebecca Allgood of Dallas, GA; many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dora Jones will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11 am with the Reverend Thomas Cole officiating. Tyler Lentz, Hunter Lentz, Clint Bruns, Chad Giles, James Shell, and Geoffery Peacock will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5 – 9 pm and Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.
