Mr. Albert Dewey Copeland, age 80 of Dallas, GA. passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Southern Traditions Nursing and Rehab Center in Buchanan, GA.

 

Mr. Copeland was born on May 19, 1931 at Sand Mountain, Alabama, to loving parents Dewey Albert Copeland and Willie Mae Lancaster Copeland. Mr. Copeland was a retired heavy equipment operator for Aiken Grading Company. Mr. Copeland enjoyed walking and nature. Mr. Copeland was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church

 

Mr. Copeland is survived by five children. Two sons, Wayne and Wanda Copeland of Dallas, GA. Lamar and Donna Copeland of Dallas, GA. Three daughters, Glenda and Farrell Owen of Dallas, GA., Debbie and Randy Parker of Dallas, GA. Gina and Donny Wix of Bremen, GA. Three sisters, Sara and Robert Thomas of North Carolina, Dot and Ray Carlton of Woodstock, GA. Mary and John Stewart of Cartersville, GA. Fourteen grand- children, Eighteen great grand- children, several nieces, nephews and many beloved family and friends.

 

Mr. Copeland is preceded in death by his beloved parents Dewey Albert Copeland and Willie Mae Lancaster Copeland, his wife Shirley Ann Turner Copeland. Two brothers, Harold Copeland and J.W. Copeland. One sister, Mozelle Copeland Oliver.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Copeland will be conducted on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 4PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home. Reverend Jason Hudgens and Reverend Kent Bankston will officiate. Sam and Jennifer Leggett and Chuck Copeland will provide the music. Pall bearers will include Chuck Copeland, Allen Copeland, Jr., Michael Copeland, Shane Copeland, David Owen, Danny Parker, Christopher Copeland, Seth Cook, Jeffrey Wix and honorary pall bearer Dustin Copeland. Interment will be at White Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 3 PM-9 PM, and Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 9 AM until the service begins at 4PM.
