Funeral Director Posted August 4, 2011 Report Share Posted August 4, 2011 Mrs. Allene Jeanette Wilson affectionately known as “Ganny”, age 72 of Douglasville Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Wilson was born on August 17, 1938 to loving parents the late Mr. Oko Hicks and Mrs. Ola Cohran Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Mr. Jack Hicks and Mr. J. B. Hicks. Mrs. Allene Wilson was a member of Christ Freedom Baptist Church. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years Mr. M.C. Wilson of Douglasville, GA; two daughters Mrs. Greg (Robben) Broome of Douglasville, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Ray (Marie) Capes of Buchanan, GA; one son Mr. & Mrs. Ronald (Suzette) Wilson of Douglasville, GA; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Georgie Harper of Adairsville, GA; three brothers Mr. Mack Hicks of Douglasville, GA, Mr. Herman Hicks of Villa Rica, GA; and Mr. Denford Hicks of Dallas, GA; nieces, nephews as well as other beloved family members and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services for Mrs. Allene Wilson will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 1 pm with Reverend Jeff Byrd officiating. Serving as pall bearers will be Terry Prince, Larry Hicks, Terry Hicks, Dwayne Hicks, and David Griffin. Danny Adair will serve as honorary pall bearer. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 3 – 9 pm and Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 9 am until time of service.
