Don't forget to run updates: http://www.networkwo...y_am_2010-08-06

"Microsoft today said it will deliver a record 14 security updates next week to patch a record-tying 34 vulnerabilities in Windows, Internet Explorer (IE), Office and Silverlight."

Saw that. GRRRRRR...

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

William Shakespeare, Sonnet 116

"Grrrrr"?

So... you'd rather Microsoft not fix bugs?

Waiting for the "Microsoft sucks" post in 3... 2... 1...

Microsoft also issued a rare out of cycle patch this past Monday. For those that believe that MSFT sucks, I would point out that the only reason for the continued security issues is that Windows is the most popular OS in the universe. No hacker is going to waste his time with Apple when it is only 5% of the market.

Many of my MAC friends also deal with MS patches in their Windows emulators needed to run the productivity/business software that runs under XP (on their MAC). I have considered trying this setup - until I see the price of the Apple hardware.

The only thing for which I've ever bothered with an emulator is MS Paint. It's the only program I miss using a Mac.

ETA: And I only miss it for how obviously cheezety anything it produces is.
