If you don't want to post your weight, please at least post the date and what you've lost. Even if you don't make 20lbs, it's a great way to watch ANY progress!

It would be fun to get some places around town to be wiegh in stations. We could do it and folks could write their name or use a code name to be anon. on a poster board.

Loose silly! And it doesn't have to be 20 lbs. We're just starting with that. I actually want to loose about 30-35 lbs. But 20 by June works too. smile.gif

Hey GEAgirl. What do you think about maybe putting these in the Ladies forum? We might have a better turn out if women know the rest of the world/board can't view their weight. The ladies forum doesn't use the "on" password - so I think many won't see it. Folks can always do:

GOAL: 20lbs
5/4: -4lbs

Or something like that. My only caveat is that I think that we need to promptly end this particular challenge August 1 and start a new one. I think things are easier to measure and motivate with they have a start and end. We've all made those, I'll lose 50lbs in 6 months, and it's just too long to keep the momentum. I think if we all set shorter, smaller goals, we'll be celebrating a series of small successes! When we see that we CAN lose 20lbs in 6-8 weeks, we'll want to sign on for another 6-8 weeks...doesn't 6-8 weeks seem so much more do-able than 6 MONTHS?!

I totally agree about the time limit. Short term goals are so much more attainable. And that's a good idea for those who don't want to post their actual weight. smile.gif

PitBoss, we're only allowing this challenge to be good until August 1. So, you want to lose 23lbs by August 1st for this challenge. I'd use that as your goal and for your ticker. See the post just above!

I changed my info. I didn't see the Aug 1 deadline. I pushed my out not only for my birthday, but felt a little slower pace would be healthier. I'm still in just adjusted the amount to loose. biggrin.gif

After you make your ticker, copy the BBcode. Then come over here, click on My Controls on the top right hand corner. On the left of that you'll see a list of things to change in your profile. Click on Edit Signature. Paste the BBcode into the Signature box and save it. smile.gif

I'm excited. 2 days in and already lost 3 lbs. Only 30 more to go. yahoo.gif

Myfitness.com is great. I am finding it hard to consume 1200 caleries a day. I'm not much for snacking. So far I've only been able to consume 800 per day. Any suggestions?

With everything going on right now, new job, daughter moving back in, MIL in hospital, son's school issues and his training, I split and then forgot to update. So here it is:

Monday May 18th: weighed in at 183.5
Saturday May 23rd: weighed in at 178.5

I actually lost 5lbs this week.

Great news is that the office where I am now working has a free exercise room w/shower. I know where I'll be spending lunch time. biggrin.gif

I see this 20 pound challenge was done a while back. Is there anything similar going on now or is anyone interested in doing something similar? I did a local Biggest Loser Comp, put $30 in and did well. The money kept me from cheating. Of course I gained most of it back. I only have about 15 or 20 pounds to lose so it would be great to find people with similar goals to keep me motivated. Of course people with more to lose could be inspiring as well. Sooooo, is anybody interested in starting something up. I just don't want to eat like crazy just because I can hide under winter clothes.

Have fun running in the morning! I can't get out the door that early, although I love a good jog.

Maybe we'll get at least a few more interested and can work something out that will be motivating.
