  3. If you have a Junior or Senior in high school who is attending Prom 2016 and is needing a tuxedo, you need information about the process. It can be easy and affordable or it can be difficult, time consuming and expensive. The key is knowing what to do and where to go. Many high school students ask their prospective prom dates on/about Valentine's Day. Once the date is set the young couple will need guidance and assistance with a florist, transportation, photography, dress/tuxedo selection, etc. Parents can help facilitate these choices so that the experience runs smoother and is less expensive to the student and/or the parents. Warning! Large nationwide chain stores, because they're only interested in processing as many orders as possible, require customers to pick their selections from a book, don't let customers try anything on, and typically charge $220 - $250 per tuxedo rental. Because they hire seasonal employees, you may get a clerk in one of these nationwide chain stores who has little to no experience fitting gentlemen for their prom tuxedos. In the big shops, the pressure is on to rent the most expensive tuxedo combination that they provide. Watch out for chain store fake discounts, where they offer "$40 off" coupons, not revealing the fact that it's $40 off of $260, or $220 for the prom rental. The Difference King Tux Rentals has a much wider selection than the big chains, the finest quality, lower prices, and better, more individualized service than the big chain stores. Savings of $100 per rental are common, as compared to chain store offerings of similar styles. We offer a COMPLETE tux rental, with a top-quality black tux jacket ad black tux pants, white tux shirt, your choice of colored vest and tie/bow tie, shirt studs and cufflinks and tux shoes, as a package, for $129.99. Traditional black tuxedos with a black vest and black bow tie -- just $119.99! Tuxedos of different colors are usually $30 - $40 more. King Tux Rentals is accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. What to do? Bring the young man in to King Tux Rentals, just off Barrett Parkway. Use the directions from our website, because GPS-related directions often take customers on a wrong turn. http://kingtuxrentals.com/directions.html If the girl has selected her dress, then either bring the dress in, or bring a fabric sample if the couple wishes to color coordinate. Pictures of colors are not a reliable representation of the true color and you may be disappointed with the actual colors if you don't bring a fabric sample. Bringing a fabric sample will also save you time and repeated return trips to our shop. It just makes sense to try to get it right the first time. Payment is usually made at the time that the prom student is measured and picks out his outfit. If this situation presents a hardship for you, then you may pay half at measuring/choosing and the other half when you come to pick up the tux. If you pay in cash, a credit/debit card is still needed as security (to make sure that we get back our tuxes on time and in good condition). We accept all major credit cards. You don't need an appointment to talk to us about renting a tux. Just drop in keeping in mind our hours of operation http://kingtuxrentals.com If the student is a high school senior, you may wish to purchase a black tux for him that he can wear to prom and then to college social functions in the fall. We sell what we rent and we will make you a deal on the purchase of an in-stock black tux. A traditional black tux, barely used, is about $300, complete, including shoes! That's everything that he will need! If you choose to rent, you'll need to make plans to bring back the tux the day after prom. Most proms are held on Saturdays and we're open on Sundays from Noon - 6 pm for returns. You don't have to dry-clean the rental before returning it. Cleaning costs are included in the rental. If you have questions about renting tuxedos from us, give us a call at (678) 401-4999. Feel free to copy, distribute and use our $10 off coupon, which will get you additional savings off our already lowest tuxedo rental prices! One per customer per prom season, please.
  4. I know that the city is putting in sewer in the down town area, but what is the construction going on down the hill from the car dealership?
  5. Hiram, Georgia – July 2, 2015– Tomorrow, July 3rd, the City of Hiram is welcoming residents and visitors to come celebrate our nation’s independence with a boom – or as we call it, “Red, White and Boom”. Ben Strickland, Sr. Memorial Park will open at 5:00 for the “Red, White and Boom” and festivities will officially kick-off at 6:00 pm. The park opens at 5:00 and admission is free. Prior to the fireworks show, there will be vendors located throughout the park offering food and refreshments for sale. While we prefer our residents and visitors patronize the local vendors and support the non-profits that will also be selling beverages, coolers with personal food and beverages are welcome. There will be no alcoholic beverages sold or permitted within the City Park. This year’s Independence Day celebration will also feature live local entertainment from West Georgia Arts Conservatory on the outdoor amphitheater stage. The City has contracted with J&M Displays to facilitate an extended fireworks show that will be visible from many locations within the City. J&M Displays provides outstanding fireworks displays at hundreds of exciting events each year. The City will be providing shuttles to and from the park to various parking lots within the vicinity of the park. Hiram Police Officers and Paulding County Deputies will be on-hand and very visible to assist with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, crowd control and compliance with State laws and local ordinances. Normal traffic patterns will be adjusted to facilitate a safer route to and from the park and surrounding streets. Click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS

The location of the ground breaking was on the City’s 12acres on the southwest side of the railroad tracks that runthrough its historic downtown. Although the sewer (gravityand force main) will run through South Forty Pass as well asalong Main Street, the location of the ground breaking wasin proximity of the lift station, the nerve center of theproject. The project is now underway being initiated by CroyEngineering. Stevenson and Palmer will be workingconcurrently and in conjunction with the lift station andforce main with the gravity service line they haveengineered. North Georgia Pipeline has been awarded the bidfor the lift station and force main as well as othercomponents of the project. Haren Construction was awardedthe gravity service line portion of the project. The totalcost of this project is $2.3 million and is being fundedusing the City’s capital reserves. The project is expectedto be completed around the middle of October of this year. Paulding County will own the infrastructure which includesits maintenance and operation with the City facilitating theadministrative aspect of its operation. This project hasbeen pursued and initiated due to an expressed need byexisting downtown businesses as well as the potential forfuture economic development within the immediate downtownarea. Those who have the need or desire to access the sewerline will need to proceed with the process required by thePaulding County Water and Sewer Department which includestap fees and ongoing sewer service billing. 10. Guys will want to come in to see us as soon as they know what color they're going to need to coordinate with, if they plan on matching their date's dress color with their tie, bow tie, pocket square and/or vest. Take care of this soon, before the rush that occurs toward the third week of February and continues into May! Girls, help the guys out by giving them a swatch, a piece from the altered dress, or just come with him when he picks out his tux and bring your dress! Just know that pictures of colors aren't dependable and it may mean that extra trips may be necessary to get the correct color. We see this every year. "She says it's some kind of purple", he tells us. If a girl doesn't want the guy to see her dress but she wants him to match (this happens regularly), then she should bring in her dress to get a good color and pattern. She should then give the turn-by-turn directions to King Tux Rentals to the guy with the color preference on that sheet. Problem solved! An alternative idea is to take advantage of our black tux special, which is an in-stock black tux with white tux shirt, black vest and bowtie, cufflinks and tux shoes all for $99.99! You can bring in a coordinating color with the pocket square (just $5.50). It's the best deal around! King Tux Rentals is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau You'll want to use these directions when coming to visit us. http://kingtuxrentals.com/directions.html (678) 401-4999
  11. Can you believe that it's already time to start making plans for the Junior-Senior prom? The first proms in this area start March 7, just two months away! Students who will be going to prom should have their dates lined up and should start thinking about a group to go with (It helps to split some of the costs and adds to the experience to go together). Even if a guy doesn't have a date yet or won't be getting one, it's still a great idea to go with friends. It's a coming-of-age ritual that is significant and irreplaceable. The girl should, ideally, get her dress soon, so that she gives her date an opportunity to get a tuxedo without his rushing into the decision or not properly shopping for it! Just know that if you call the tux chain stores, they'll probably not want to tell you how much their tuxedos really cost. Spoiler alert: The big chain stores, Joseph A Bank/Men's Wearhouse (owned by the same company now), and Savvi Formalwear are pricing their top lines at $220 AFTER a $40 discount coupon. Everybody gets the "discount" from them, but the final costs in a high-pressure sales environment is going to average $200 or above. At King Tux Rentals (Better Business Bureau accredited), we have prom tuxedos, complete, for as low as $99.99! That price includes shoes! Here's what you get for that price: Black tuxedo jacket and pants, white pleated tux shirt, black satin tux vest (or cummerbund), shirt studs and cufflinks, and black tux shoes. $99.99! You may also opt for Dark Chocolate Brown tux jacket and pants, white pleated tux shirt, vest and tie/bow tie of your color and style choice and brown shoes -- $99.99! If these two choices aren't what you're looking for, then we can supply you with your choice of our black tuxedos with your choice of vest and tie (or bow tie), tux shirt of your choice, shirt studs and cufflinks, and black tux shoes - Just $129.99! For this choice, you may use the $10 coupon. Just print it off and bring it in (that makes your cost for this choice $119.99). If you want ANY other tux that we can get you for rental from our regular suppliers (about 40 styles of tuxes including grey tuxes (light grey and dark grey), navy tuxes, and white dinner jackets with black pants), that price is $159.99. You may also use the $10 coupon for any of these tuxedo rentals! These tuxes include your choice of rental accessories. If the prom student needs to coordinate colors, you'll save yourself a trip if you can bring either a fabric swatch or the actual dress, so that we can assist you with color matching. Whereever you go, if you make a color choice and then have to change it at the last minute, there will be a change fee. It makes sense to be prepared so you'll know how to avoid pitfalls. We're here to help! We like to say, "It all starts with a phone call!" Just call us to let us know how we can help you with your special day. (678) 401-4999. When you come to visit, make sure that you use the directions from our website http://kingtuxrentals.com/directions.html I
  12. Whether, you're in Cobb, Paulding, Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton, or Douglas and whether you're having a wedding, a prom, or a social event where you need to get dressed up in a tux or a suit, you'll want to come see us at King Tux Rentals in Kennesaw. We're conveniently located just off Barrett Parkway http://kingtuxrentals.com/directions.html and have the latest in styles and colors! We're open from 11 - 7 Tuesday through Friday, from 10 - 6 on Saturdays and noon - 6 on Sundays. We like to say, "It all starts with a phone call!" (678) 401-4999 Let us know about your special day and we can help you from there!
  13. If you have a daughter going to prom, she should be looking for a dress now. Prom 2015 is, for some schools, just over a month away! When she finds a dress, it would be a good idea if she could bring us a piece of the fabric, if not the whole dress, for the purpose of color matching (assuming that the young gentleman wants to coordinate colors with her). It's more efficient to get a fabric-to-fabric match than it is to use a photo or a general description of the color (like "some kind of purple") In recent years, girls have been increasingly secretive about what their dresses look like, which makes it very difficult for the young gentleman. At King Tux Rentals, we suggest this: Bring the dress by to find out what the matching color is. We'll even make a note of it in our shop, if you want us to. Print off a copy of our $10 coupon and give it to the boyfriend/date. Also, print off the directions from our website http://kingtuxrentals.com/directions.html and give him the three things he needs - the name of the color/style that coordinates with the dress, the printed directions and the printed coupon. We can take it from there!

  16. UPDATE: Winds high enough to unfurl the big flag at a nearby car dealer, low humidity and the use of an outdoor burn barrel were responsible for a fire, the smoke from which could be seen as far south as Ridge Road and as far west as Dallas. Traffic was tied up from shortly after 2 p.m. when the call was first made until after six as fire trucks blocked macland road fighting the fire with a contingent of 25 firefighters. Destroyed in the blaze were two homes and two out buildings on this parcel of property east of GA 92 on Macland Road. Fire Fighters poured gallons upon gallons on the blaze, eventually turning the black sooty smoke to a ligher, whiter haze that was hovering on the grounds around Hope United Methodist Church on Marietta highway. Among the sources of water used to douse the blaze was water pumped directly from the lake on the property. The wind, which swept the fire across the property threatened to catch woods on fire and spread to the Evans Mill subdivision just north of the property but the Fire Department deployed one of the five fire companies to head off any further spread. Fire Department spokesperson mary Ann Phipps reported there were no injuries suffered by either those fighting the blaze or the residents. For Paulding.com, I 'm G. Patton Hughes reporting. A fire at an unknown location northwest of Hiram is filling the sky with smoke and drawing multiple fire engines this afternoon. The fire broke out about 2:30 p.m. and the billowing black smoke can be seen from as far south as Ridge Road south of Hiram, said Curtis Carlin, who provided the video. We are headed to the scene and hope to post more information as details become available. As always, members are encouraged to post their observations of this horrific hot happening.
