  1. Right now we do not have anything planned. My two boys will have to spend most days at the sitters since both parents work.

expenses are pretty tight, so maybe some day trips are in order this year. We used to go to the beach for a week, but with the gas prices the way they are that is probably nixed this year.

Wife has had to use most of her vacation/sick days so looks like if we go anywhere it might just be me and the two boys.

Anyone got some suggestions on where to go with a 12yr and 6yr old boy that is not too far away?

Helen and go tubing down the river!!

  2. I am a stay at home/work at home mom so I will be spending the summer with 5 & 2 year olds. We normally do Six Flags season passes but decided not to this year and instead we got a above ground pool for the back yard. So we will be spending time around here. Also when we need some sand time we love the VFW Lake off Buchanan Hwy. I am a member of nwatlantamommies.com and we will be doing stuff with them all summer. Steive B's tour,Coldstone tour, park days, movies, free cartoons at the Dallas theater etc...I will also be working during the summer to grow my Avon business.

  3. I know it would have you driving all over to get to the meeting but I take Dru to Color Us Kids on Bakers Bridge every once in a while to get some me time. It's $40 for the day.

Wow $40? thats a lot for one day. A friend of mine uses Brookwood in Dallas and its only $25 but still I cant do that once a week it will add up. And if you do $40 a day you need to check out the child development lab at Chatt. Tech I think its like $80 a week and its more like preschool than daycare.

After the discussion about kids & business not mixing. I am working on a Networking playdate somewhere kids can come play and moms can talk with the nwatlantamommies group I am a moderator for.

  4. I figured. I understand they don't mix.

Unfortunately I probably wont be joining you guys as I cant get a sitter and the person I was going to ask it wouldnt be fair as she is a work at home mom also and would probably be interested in the meeting.

It really blows even the Mom networking group I was directed to doesnt allow kids. I am a work at home mom so I can be with my kids and not pay childcare.
