    Hospice

Used Tranquility with my sister. Always had heard wonderful things about it. It was the most bizarre, unpleasant experience. Still, several years later, have bad memories of the experience. Her pain was not controlled, the nurse seemed freaked out when she passed away, no one from the facility spoke to us after her passing. The family gathered in the "library" which is in plain view of others. We stayed until the funeral home took her away and there was no interaction from the staff.
  2. Anything under 70 is usually considered low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Not to scare you, but this is from the American Diabetes Association website: If blood sugar is below 70 and/or experiencing symptoms of low blood sugar: 1. Consume 15-20 grams of glucose(sugar) or simple carbohydrates . (i.e. 1/2 cup juice or soda, 2 TBS. raisins, 1TBS. sugar, etc.) 2. Check blood sugar after 15 minutes. 3. If still low, consume 15-20 more grams of sugar. 4. Once your blood sugar returns to normal, consume a small snack, if your next meal is more than an hour or two away. If left untre
  3. According to my husband's conversation with Honda today, the above was fixed under the first recall. So, now we don't have to worry about things coming out of the airbag and slicing and dicing us. But, we still have to worry about the airbag randomly inflating, and possibly causing "driver distraction". You think?
  4. My husband just got the Garmin vivofit 2 and really likes it. It has a watch battery so you don't have to charge it.
  5. I went in before they had handouts. I had only 6 items on my list to pick up and walked the length of the store several times. It made me very grumpy. Then the cashier made the mistake of asking, "Did you find everything you were looking for?".

    Flu

My 18 year old daughter did not have the flu shot. She tested positive last Friday after feeling ill for 1 1/2 days. She was prescribed Tamiflu. Today has been a week since she started feeling bad. She is alot better but not 100% yet. Hope you feel better soon!
  7. I do. I think overall it has been worth it. I just had a follow up visit with my allergist today. I have been taking allergy shots for 3 years. I'll probably finish out this year and be done! She said that studies show most benefit comes from taking the shots for 3-5 years. About a week ago I started taking Zyrtec daily just as a preventive because I knew pollen was coming. So far so good. I am not having any issues. If I have a flare up the doc puts me on steroids for a short time and they knock it right out. But, I haven't had to do this in a while. So, in my opinion the shots seem
  8. Perhaps he needs to talk with Karen Minton. I heard her warning about it several times.
  9. I'm totally addicted to this show. I'm playing catch up...about to finish the 2010 season.
  10. Now, that is something to consider!
  11. My husband did a lot of research on this and built us an infrared sauna room under our basement staircase last year. Like exercise, we did it for a while, and then stopped. We didn't do it long enough to see any benefits, but we need to try it again because the research on it is very interesting.
  12. A neighbor's house was broken into last week. The police told them that there have been a rash of burglaries on Friendship Church Rd. and Highpoint Rd. areas.
