  1. The homes off Ivey Gulledge in two separate subdivisions have several bullet holes in them. I only noticed the bullet holes after seeing a crime scene van at each home. It happened early morning hours in December.
  2. I saw what you so. Not long ago, two subdivisions off Ivy Gulledge had the same thing happen. I would like to know if thevpolice think they are connected. It's scary
  3. We had issues in elementary with our daughter. I was advised by a special Ed teacher to use a white board with markers. We did all homework on that first and then on paper. It was a dramatic difference within months and no issue now.
  4. I am curios as well...same activity with crime scene van was in Ivy Springs yesterday at a home and there are bullet holes in the house siding. The police had metal detectors in the yard. Scary... Especially if they are related to each other.
  5. For me and my house, I hold my kids accountable for their grades - If they get below an 85 - they are grounded - end of story! I ground them for a 2 days and they are required to study extra in that particular subject. And let me say this - I am available to help them study, tutoring is offered at school for middle school by most teachers if you request it. I have done this since 2nd grade for both kids. My son is in 7th grade as well and I make sure to check each teacher's website weekly to know what is going on and where he is at. When they get in High School their grades count from
  6. I recently had the SAME thing happen - not food, but the venue. Their child didn't like where we are going and said because of that they would not attend. Ofcourse my child was upset, and ALL I could think if my child did not like something about someone else's birthday party - it to TEACH them a lesson - IT IS ABOUT THE BIRTHDAY CHILD - right? I mean I want my child's friends to enjoy and have fun, but it is MY child's birthday.... I don't feel bad, wouldn't change a thing...it is that kid's missed opportunity for fun!
  7. I think of this family OFTEN...prayers and hugs for healing!
  8. I would stop paying rent and save that money and find a new rental!! Put the money aside and tell the landlord that you will pay him the rent once he shows proof that he has brought the mortgage current. You could be in a really bad position if you don't take some precations now. That is what I would do.
  9. campwestminster.org - It is AWESOME!! Kids love = parents love it!!
  10. Is it only me or does the very last sentence bother anyone else? It pretty much reads - you are screwed, your kids are screwed, the teachers are screwed, the non-teacher employees are screwed and THEN it says - "The mission of the Paulding County School District is to prepare ALL students for success in the 21st Century.
  11. I am a big fan of celebrating anniversaries!! Here are a few things that I have done in the past: I have created a picture collage with pics from dating all the way to that anniversary - I know this is more of a girly thing - but it also helps you reconnect thru memories and can bring romance back into a long marriage. I have also done a video slide show with pics thru the years and added our wedding song as backgroud - did this like 5 years after the pic collage. I really appreciate a love letter...I have written one and recapped all of the firsts we have done - first date, first kid, first
  12. Go to Disneyworld.com - you get a free ticket for volunteering your time and they will ask your zip code and provide a list of volunteer needs in your area. AND then for all your hardwork...you get a free disney ticket - all family members can participate in the volunteer work to earn the ticket. Kinda cool!
  13. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  14. I just told my mother-in-law this morning.....please don't buy us anything...we have told all family that we only buy for children...no adults. When we did buy for adults, it was meaningless gifts just so they would have a gift from us to open. When you can't recall the gift that you received last year from a loved one, you should stop buying gifts...they are meaningless. I will still do something thoughtful if the opportunity arises such as a great photo in a frame. I do bake cookies with the kids and put them in tins and pass out to family and friends...love that!
