  1. I could understand if schools were closed today because of the threat of icy roads, which I have yet to hear of any icy roads being reported. But for cold weather? If that's the case we're going to be out plenty of days this winter because it was predicted that its going to be one of the coldest winters on record. Maybe it's the New Yorker in me, but, as long as you know how to layer your kids up, put scarves, hats, and gloves on them, they should be alright to go to school, even in 6 degree weather.
  2. I live here at lost mountain, we're moving once out lease is up but we have been here for 2 1/2 years with no real issues. But I agree with the above comment with staying in the front of the complex.
  3. I think they should be punished but I do not think that this warranted a felony. It got out of hand and the kids should have been put to cleaning up all of what the messed up and at least 500 hrs of community service cleaning up graffiti from else where. I'm sure that most of them are remorseful of what happened. I don't think they should lose scholarships or admissions to schools because of it. I know college students and grad students who have done way worse than these misguided youths and have gotten away with it. A felony is gonna destroy lives. They should be punished, yes, but their live
  4. I normally do not reply to posts like this because I hate getting into racial arguments but this case I'm gonna speak out. The 911 tapes did it for me. Zimmerman was told NOT to follow Martin and he did it anyway. At that point he wasn't "attacked" by the kid. He should have just let the police handle it but he just continued to persue. I know at 17, if someone would start following me I either start walking pretty quickly close to running or asking why the heck are you following me. Now if Zimmerman was attacked by Martin he should have just shot the kid in the knee or something to neutralize
  5. Thanks y'all. I'm gonna let her know.
  6. Anyone knows what part of 61 is closed. Mom is driving home from work at Paulding Hospital to South Paulding by Nebo and 61. She wants to make sure she has a direct route clear on a major road.
  7. I love this post right here!!!! Though I have received food stamps, I refuse to stand in that line anymore. It is very difficult to find a job/career out there BUT if you are vigilant and don't sit on your butt, it will come to you. Oh yeah....my IQ is 142. But then yet again, I'm from NY.
  8. I was at the EP/Paulding County game up until halftime last night. But it was a great game. PC is looking alot better than how I've seen them before, but East is a tough team to beat. Wish I could have stayed for the whole thing before my little one started screaming her head off. Also glad to see South finally got a win off of Hiram!!!! My sisters go to South and the youngest one is in the band. I know they were happy for that win!
  9. So sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. My condolences.
  10. I would say Jamaica but my dad lives there and the crime rate is getting ridiculous down there so...eh....but...he is originally from Dominica (not the Dominican Republic, but yes Dominica btwn Martinique and Guadelope) and that island is spectacular. If you like hiking, it is one of the best places to hike. They do have beaches but not like other Caribbean island, they have rocky beaches and coves that are simply marvelous. But the island has so many attractions and it is (IMHO) one of the most, if not the most, beautiful island in all the Caribbean. St. Lucia comes in second(my mom is from t
  11. Can someone explain to me the necessity of the graduation test??? I wasn't raised here, I'm from NY, but we weren't required to take a test to graduate from high school. We had no standardized testing for High School unless you were trying to get a NYS Regents diploma (which I received) but it was optional. One of my younger sisters just took the graduation test and passed it this year but I still don't understand the meaning behind it. It baffles me that there is a need for kids to be tested to graduate. I don't see an issue if there are a required amount of credits per subject. If the chil
  12. OMG this made tears roll down my face! God bless 'em! What a beautiful story.
  13. Prayers for this family! I hope the boys have a speedy recovery.
