  1. My wife and I are currently in an Assisted Living in an adjacent county because of a condition she has. We still have our house and all it's contents at our home in Paulding as well as all utilities. When I respond to various agencies in Paulding and elsewhere, what do I tell them my residence is? I want to say Paulding here, because I don't want to lose the benefits give to residents for real estate taxes, but don't know if that's correct? Also applies to Drivers Licence, etc. The Assisted Living is costing quite enough. Does anyone know?
  2. Re-posting as a warning ,a post I saw on Facebook. What would you do??? So my wife goes to a wine store yesterday. When she went in the door a little girl looked up at her and said, "where's my daddy?" I guess daddy walked off with the store clerk to inspect something. My wife said he was nowhere nearby. That kind of stuff bothers me. I don't trust people enough to let my kids stroll too far from my sight. Glad my wife found that little girl and not some sicko predator.

  4. Visitors to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park may soon be paying to park there $5 for a day pass or $40 annually. Park officials are considering instituting an honor system parking fee as part of a plan that would introduce a seven-days-a-week shuttle to the top of the parks mountain road and close that road to other vehicular traffic. Click for more information about the proposed changes.

  6. There is a sign in front of a home on Nebo Road between Bill Carruth and Dallas Nebo Road that says lot 5, which I thought they meant they had an attached lot for sale. Been there for some time. On the north side. No more information.
  7. The sheriff's office is working with online retail site OfferUp to help make transactions set up online safer by creating a meeting place. DALLAS, GA — Concerned about citizens' safety, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office has established a meet-up spot for people wanting to meet to conduct transactions set up online. The sheriff's office has partnered with online retail site OfferUp, which has created a safety-oriented "MeetUp Spots" program to help ensure both buyers and sellers can make in-person transactions with more peace of mind. In Paulding County, a MeetUp spot has been established in the parking lot of the sheriff's office. Its address is 247 Industrial Way North, Dallas, GA 30132. OfferUp is working with a network of more than 700 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States to minimize crimes and promote safer practices for online transactions. 9. In Georgia, First-time homebuyers may receive $15K in aid (FROM THE AJC) First-time homebuyers in 10 counties may be able to receive $15,000 in state assistance for down payments, closing costs and prepaid costs. The new initiative is targeted to eligible borrowers purchasing an existing home in 10 Georgia counties: Bibb, Chatham, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Muscogee and Paulding. Homebuyers do not need to live in one of the qualifying counties but only need to be purchasing a home in one of these counties. They also must be willing to contribute at least $1,000 to the purchase transaction. The goal is to reduce obstacles for homeownership and stabilize these counties that have been the hardest hit with serious delinquency, negative equity, distressed sales and foreclosures. Homesafe Georgia and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Office of Homeownership Finance have begun accepting reservations through participating lenders for Hardest Hit Fund Down Payment Assistance. The assistance is being made available on a first-come, first-served basis until the $15 million allotted for the program is depleted.
