Did anyone see the wreck on 120 between the Avenues and Barrett Pkwy? I was coming home from Barrett Pkwy and 120 was blocked in front of Lowes. I had to take the back way around and came out right in front of the wreck. There were probably at least 10 police cars there. It was probably one of the worst wrecks that I have ever seen. I didn't see any rescue vehicles or ambulances, only police. It did not look like there was a good outcome

Wow! Someone else who really knows how they should be! My husband lived in Del Rio for a few years, so that is how we make them. But you can't get them like that here. Every restuarant wants to dump a bunch of chips on a plate and pour that liquid sauce on it and call them nachos. They make them that way at On the Border, that is why I was excited!

FYI Real Nacho's are made with individual chips, small slices of sharp Wisconsin Cheddar or Longhorn Cheddar(Colby) and a slice of jalapeno....nothing more. Due to the high number of migrants that worked in the canneries and plants up north, they brought the cheeses back, now most northern Mexican towns use Longhorn Cheddar in their dishes. This is what we look for in Mexican food, most restaurants in the south used Cheddar/Colby back in the 80's but seem to have shifted as more Mexicans starte

Thank you to whoever recommended On the Border! I thought I had been to On the Border a long time ago and didn't like it. Anyway, I went to the one in Kennesaw, and loved it! Just the type of Mexican I was looking for!!!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I agree, Top of the River is very good. I am from Alabama, so I have been there often. We ended up going to a little restaurant on Weiss Lake in Cedar Bluff, AL. That was also halfway for us. My mom didn't want to go to Gadsden, because she figured everywhere would be crowded. The restaurant we went to was called the Lighthouse. It was a restaurant/motel right on the lake. The food was good, and it wasn't crowded at all! I recommend it if anyone is in the area.

Does anyone know if there are any restaurants in Piedmont, AL other than fast food joints? We are looking for somewhere to eat tomorrow for Mother's Day. We were going to meet my mom there because it is halfway. If not, then we will go on to Gadsden.

Mmm.. yes I have been to Pappasita's! Very good!! I just wish out of all the Mexican restaurants that we have around here, that one of them would use cheddar!!! I think we have 5 in Hiram and that is not including all the other ones in the area!

LOL... the white cheese is so bland to me. I know "yellow" isn't the name, but it is some type of cheddar that some parts of Mexico use in their dishes.

I meant a non-chain restaurant. We have been to all the ones in Hiram and they all have white cheese. I was hoping there might be one outside of Hiram! There are sooo many Mexican restaurants, surely there is one that has yellow cheese.

Does anyone know of any Mexican restaurants in the area that have yellow cheese? I have yet to find a favorite Mexican restaurant in the Atlanta area, because they all have the white cheese. I grew up with yellow cheese with Mexican food.

I used to take the Xpress bus from the Hiram movie theater to downtown. The bus is very comfortable. I used to sleep all the way to work. LOL. It has been over a year since I rode the bus, but it was $3.00 for the bus and then you transfer for free to MARTA. On the trip back, you only have to pay for MARTA $2.00 and then you can transfer free to the bus. So it should cost you and the hubby a total of $10.00 round-trip. You will need a Breeze card to get the transfer. I think you can probably go to the MARTA website to see about getting a card sent to you. They do not sell them on t
