  1. Best idea yet. Make people hang up the phones, get rid of those stupid, nearly vacant HOV lanes and raise the speed limits to realistic levels- like anyone actually drives 50 and 55 mph inside the perimeter.....
  2. Well....... I guess it is settled.......
  3. Can you get Tommie to help me figure out how to get three cars into a two-car garage? Speaking of Tommie, maybe he'll be in character and not sitting in silence like the rest of them when the topic of Clark's subsidy comes up again. Since Clark Ambulance gets a subsidy and not a payment for any services under terms of a contract then it would appear that they are simply the recipient of public money and should have to account for how every dollar of that money is spent. At least that might help justify the subsidy, as well as explain why the BOC is giving it to Clark while at the same
  4. Circle the wagons Sam fans! If you play hard-ball with people how do you expect to get their business for the funerals of their family members? And get them to vote for you for Coroner? Hence, Sam is a great guy. Maybe, the ambulance business is run off of whatever they collect from insurance, voluntary payments and tax-payer subsidy. Hypothetically, it would make a good feeder for your funeral home, provided the ambulance business can stay afloat on the revenue model in use. Just like being a coroner and using your ambulances for transport and your funeral home for a morgue would also
  5. Why bother? You and everyone else reading this post already know who they are going to vote for between the two, if they vote for anyone at all.......
  6. How about getting copies of the police report and court documents and posting those? That way the voters could read it and decide for themselves.
  7. Good for the marshals and the boc. You wanting to make some money doesn't give you the right to trash up the public roadway- period. And make a mess for someone else, funded by my tax dollars, to clean up. Buy some space in a paper, take out an ad, rent a billboard- or take a banner ad on this fine electronic establishment......
  8. Litter on the side of the road is still litter......whether it is just lying there or upright on a stick. I wish they had more people to take up signs and write tickets.
  9. I don't think they do that senior discount in this county........
  10. Probably one of just a few more to come into the county now that Wellstar claims that one day they will build is building a new hospital and Tanner is getting their foot firmly in the county.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out what 'press' it was released to.
  12. The real problem comes as the county is trying to "sell" Paulding and bring jobs here. It is hard to attract companies here by talking Paulding up and then have the interested parties drive through the place and see what a pig stye we've made of it. So in some respect it is a county problem concerning litter enforcement, public awareness, education and clean-up. Or, we can all just leave well enough alone and wallow in our filth.......
  13. Lost cause. I think the county does some clean up- but it certainly isn't enough. But given the amount of just plain trashy people who live here you'd need an army to clean up after their sorry butts.
  14. Use the Force Will, or Jerry, or Somebody! Get the dark forces and evil monsters- or is it the evil forces and dark monsters? Who's Will again? Vote for Animal! He's got the Force!
  15. Don't be mad at the Republicans. This here is just plain ol' capitalism busting through and they are supporting it. Supply and demand. When an item gets too expensive for your taste -or too rich for your blood- then you simply do without it or find a cheaper substitute. When the renewal goes up just get a plain tag. I'll bet the state actually would like not having to keep up with all the speciality tags that every group wants.
  16. It sounds like the Obama White House in here...... George Bush/King Jerry this, W/Jerry that. That was two years ago. Move on. The guys in office now have the responsibility. It's their game and they get the credit or blame now. Facts are facts, the economy has tanked (nationwide- not just Paulding- apparently this is a large-scale problem. Or the Paulding robber barons have enormous reach). Property values have tanked and since we have a local tax system that is partially dependent on the value of property, part of the tax base has tanked too. If you want to maintain some decent level of
  17. Howard is a good man and serves us well. Fortunately, I don't see him at any risk of loosing his seat anytime soon. And fortunately, he's too smart to waste his time here or with you. It must be terrible to be so angry and bitter at any politician who was in in office when your fight with the county started that you feel you have to wage unbridled war against them. Go pound your war drum against some other politician and leave the poor guy alone.
  18. Therein lies the biggest problem. We simply don't have the infrastructure, including many quality of life issues like a highly-rated school system and active traffic management, to be highly attractive (and no, I'm not saying this is a bad place to live). With the market supporting both low real estate prices and high employment pool availability in more desirable areas we are likely to be stuck at the back of the bus for some years. There's just better out there at more reasonable prices- and better tax rates.
  19. Darn right! During the years where student enrollment decreased they should have cut taxes!
  20. I can't remember the last time I thought about Hee Haw.....
  21. It's the same politically timed crap that the last administration did. The only difference is that there's a bunch of folks on this site who are in love the newer guy and hated/still hate the old guy. If this had happened back on King Jerry's watch they would have been howling for blood. From whichever side of the fence you look at it, it is politics the Paulding way. Get used to the fact that you just cant trust your local politicians to be open and honest with you about anything that they think may hurt their chances of getting elected or re-elected. Plan on building a stupid road and you ge
  22. Wait a minute....... I thought this race was about which good ol boy clique you are a part of- the old one that just got the boot or the old, old one that is composed of a core of 'former' democrats, which is now the 'new' good ol boy clique? And I thought Todd was working for himself, Austin and Carruth, not the post. What gives?
