I posted the topic becasue I'm a criminal justice major and it was the topic of a debate I listened to on NPR "Justice Today". Thank you all for posting.

It would be foolish to claim that well-planned CCTV can never have an impact, but the effectiveness of CCTV is often overstated. It would be nieve to assume that cameras can take the place of street lights and a police presence. CCTV didn't catch my brothers killer although he was caught on tape. Frankly a startling number of offfenders caught on tape are never prosecuted.

The percentage of Level 1 felonies solved due to closed circut cameras is only 13%. In addition videos are often found inadmisable becasue of there quality.

Do you think closed circut cameras deter crime? Do they help you feel safer? Or are they an invasion of privacy?

I'm a criminal Justice major and have to perform an interveiw . I figured the best way was to call and ask. I thought the police would be easier to contact then corrections or a parole officer.

Does anyone know the number for non-emergency? I don't have a phone book and can't seem to find it oneline. TIA

I love ths show. My aunt works for Showtime and always feeds me stuff I had seen the first three episodes of Dexter season 5 before they aired. If I get any info I'll let ya'll know

My Mom died 2 years ago. My Dad lives in Chicago. I only see him about every six months he visits for my sons birthday and Christmas.

I haven't gotten my hair done since my son was born. Today my sister sent me a Christmas card with a check that said "PLEASE take pity on your hair" (Feel the love right). So I'm looking to get a cut and maybe some color possibly highlights. Anyone know of an affordable salon?

I passed along the information to my mom's . Unfortunately my son and I will be unable to attend.
