  1. Does anyone have any news about Ridge Road?
  2. He has been allowed to because up until this point they have been living together with his family. And yes that will be changed.
  3. This is exactly what most outside of pcom have told me. I just want to be sure. I would hate for it to really come to that cause we will do it. We of course no matter what will be seeking advice from a lawyer but until we can get her in to see someone, I didn't want her to have to worry about him not giving him back. Now that I know I can call a sheriff to come if he did, I feel much better.
  4. Apparently the not being married is what makes the difference. If they were to have gotten married then it automatically legitamates him as the father. Him being on the birth certificate is just one step closer to that process, which is handled through the courts. He would have to file and pay the fees if he wants the rights of being his legal father. He then at that point would have to hire an attorney to get visitation. As far as child support goes, as long as a praternaty test or he admits to being the father is positve he will have to pay. It is up to him to get the rights to see the child
  5. Im sure she can since he really doesn't have rights. It's just sad he has turned it in to this. It is always important for the the baby to know his dad but when he's acting this way I guess there is no room for trust.
  6. Thanks everyone for the advice and the links. Will be definately calling.
  7. You're exactly right and she is trying. This break up literally just happened 3 days ago. They had came to a verbal agreement on when he would be getting the baby and I think because he has realized she is really done with him, he is now acting out. Today was the first day of the threats and that is why I have spent all morning trying to get answers.
  8. The baby is 13 months old. And yes that is what it's coming to. She does not want him to not see his dad but the dad is not making it easy by being so hateful. He is able to pick him up from daycare, so I was trying to find out if he did against the mothers will, what do we do.
  9. From what I have been told and not exactly sure what this means is that since they were never married he is only considered the punitive/biological father and that until he goes to court to get legitamated he has no rights. So I was thinking in my head okay if he has no rights and chooses to keep him against the mothers will, would the police make him give him back? This stuff is so confusing. But we are still looking into the legal side of it. Takes a while so I was just trying to prepare for now.
  10. Oh yes! Me and hot weather do not mix well.
  11. My niece is 18 and Ex-boyfriend is 18, they have a child together. Never married. Since there are no visitation rights set up the dad has started threatening to keep the baby. He is on the birth cert but since they were never married, his is not legitamated as the father, only biological. If he was to get him and refuse to give him back, is he able to to that. This is all very new and Im having a difficult time getting answers from other sources. So thought I would turn to PCOM. Thanks for any information anyome may have.
  12. I called DOL and they kept me going in circles my entire lunch break. They sent me to hourly and wage to file a claim, so yes they can help with it as well. By law the company has to give us the money, but Im worried at this point no matter which way we go we may never see it. Well not in anytime to help us anywayd. The problem with the DOL is that it is taking awhile because of all the unemployment issues. I know one other person from the company has filed, she said she hasn't heard anything and it's been over a month for her. The question I have that no one can seem to answer is, is it illeg
  13. Thanks guys for the help. This has sure been a pain. Keeping my head up and for sure going to look at some of the options. Thanks
  14. More so people say Moma and Daddy
  15. (1st off, no offense)Someone posted about it being a Yankee thing by not calling your parents "Mommy" and "Daddy", and I totally agree. My family and I are from the North and I cannot think of one adult person from there that says mommy/daddy. I call my parents mom and dad. I believe Mommy/Daddy is more of a country/southern girl thing.
