  1. They have a lot of good stuff but are a lot more expensive than what you pay on line. I went in there one time and was shocked at some of the prices!!
  2. This is one statement that is definitely NOT true. I've been an adjuster for 17 years and what I've seen is that the State Board of WC is all forr the employees who are not really injured. I've seen them give a stripper a $12,000 settlement after viewing a video of her pole dancing at her new place of employment when she had a rotator cuff injury and was supposedly unable to work. The judge said that "she was just having a good day". We also had her on video washing her car and lifting her child up over her head. I've seen the State Board side with employee's who are faking so many times
  3. In regards to when a claim settles, it all depends on the injured worker. A lot of them will be told by the doctor that they need surgery but won't have it right away. Sometimes that is because they do not actually need it. If they do settle before having the surgery, the estimated cost of the surgery and resulting treatment (office visits, PT, medication, etc.) is taken into account when determining the amount of the settlement. Just the possibility of surgery raises the value of the claim. Your friend should not have to quit her job just because she has surgery. If she has surgery an
  4. There is absolutely nowhere around her to get any really good scrapbooking supplies. Michaels and Hobby Lobby don't have nearly enough of a selection, so I order all of mine on line. I've been scrapping for a little over 6 years and absolutely love it, but it can be a very expensive hobby!! I have tons of stuff and would love to have a room devoted totally to scrapbooking. It takes up a lot of room if you get serious about it. Good luck!! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
  5. I am a WC adjuster. The employer does not have to pay for any time off for doctor's appointments, PT, testing, etc. and WC only pays for being out of work if the treating doctor takes the patient entirely out of work. About half of the companies that my company insures pays their employees for doctor visits, PT, etc. The other half do not. It's up to the individual company. As far as telling her she has to go to PT before or after work, they can suggest that she do that but cannot force her to. She has to go when she can get an appointment. I don't understand why they would pay her
  6. Amen!!! I do not know whether Troy Davis is guilty or not but, I do know that there is enough of a doubt that I think his sentence should be commuted to life. I don't mind the death penalty for those who are guilty without a doubt, and I have a lot of doubts about the Davis case. With that being said, Brian Nichols is a prime example of someone who needs to go on and be executed. There is absolutely no doubt that he did what he was found guilty and sentenced for.
  7. It doesn't matter any more about what kind of cars were involved. Now we know that a 3-year-old and his grandfather were seriously injured. We just need to keep them in our prayers.
  8. It was a burglary at 2649 Cleburne Parkway. Complainant chased 4 subjects: heavyset black male and black female, one white male. They left in a white mini-van headed towards Highway 92 on Cleburne. One subject (white male) may be in the woods in the area. He jumped the fence and only had one shoe on. The other 3 are gone. The one who jumped the fence had on a dirty white T-shirt, blue shorts, and only one shoe. behind 2638 Cleburne Parkway - white van found behind what looks like an abandoned house - white van with no 28s. Ran VIN - returns to 1998 white Windstar van - Sharon Wilson
  9. I was wondering the same thing. I came by there about 3:15 and it looked like a movie set with all the flashing lights. There were police cars in the driveway of the corner house that sits kind of back off the road, and in the driveway next door. I counted 11 altogether. There was one officer standing on the side of the road holding a muddy shoe and talking to a man. There was a man standing in the yard of the corner house with his arms folded across his chest and police officers were all around the yard. I'm going on the archieves to see what I can find out. I'll post when I know mor
  10. 28 year old - tried to do everything by the book. did exactly what the pediatrician said. Sleep on tummy, NEVER on back because she could spit up and choke to death. Had a hard time with her because she was allergic to something that was in all baby formula so she was constantly throwing up. Put her on 2% milk at 9 months and she never threw up again. She hated to sleep, too. Never got much sleep until she turned 2. Fed baby food until she was at least a year old. 26 year old - was very depressed to be pregnant because my first was a difficult baby. God blessed me with an angel bec
  11. Don't bother filing a complaint if it is against the Hiram post office. I filed one on-line and went to the post office on several occasions. The postmaster even called me but I was taold that a carrier doesn't have to get out in the rain or if it's too cold to deliver a package. They can lie and claim they tried to deliver it when you are home and know darn well that they did not make any attempt to get out of their truck. They can claim that your dog, a chocolate lab, tried to attack them on a day when the dog was gone with my husband. I finally stopped having packages sent to my house.
  12. If you're going to be in the delivery room, just wait!! You think the heartbeat and ultrasound are amazing and emotional, just wait until that little angel is born. I was there with four out of five and will never forget any of it. I have never felt so much love and emotion in my entire life!!!
  13. I hope it's convenient for me. I have always want to try them but there are none convenient to me. With the price of gas, I don't drive anywhere that is out of my way!!
  14. J-Lo can do a whole lot better than Marc Anthony. I never understood what she saw in him anyway.
  15. I absolutely LOVE these kinds of shows. I had no idea this channel existed. I am definitely going to check it out because I've watched all the "Snapped" shows and I know them by heart!!
  16. She got on a plane bound for who knows where. It's such a shame that she got away with murder and it's such a shame that she's getting such special treatment. I think she should not get any special treatment and just be made to be on her own like any other person who has been found not guilty. She certainly doesn't deserve to be treated so special. It's like she's rewarded for commiting murder and getting away with it.
  17. The best place I know of is Douglasville Gymnastics and Cheerleading on Bright Star Road in Douglasville. Both my girls went there and they loved it. Paige, the owner is awesome. We are looking into putting my granddaughter into classes when she turns 3 in September.
  18. Kid to Kid in Douglasville won't give you a reasonable price. They want you to just about give your stuff away. I didn't have much better results with Tadpoles. Have you tried E-Bay or Craig's List? That's were you're going to get a reasonable price for it.
  19. I fell asleep before it went off. I can't believe the parole officers NEVER once investigated the out-building and tarps in the backyard when they knew that he'd taken his second victim to a storage facility!!! She is a very brave and amazing woman. And absolutely beautiful!! She reminds me so much of my stepdaughter with the way she looks and they way she talks. I wish her the best.
  20. Doesn't surprise me at all. So he's the father of two young children? How in the H___ could he have said "not guilty"?!!?!?! What if that had been his child? I am sick over this whole thing. A murderer is allowed to go free and it seems like everybody and their brother is going to profit from Caylee's death. The whole thng just makes me sick. I know this is awful, but I hope someone takes the law into their own hands and rids this world of the monster that Casey Anthony is. That's the only justice Caylee will ever get.
  21. I don't know why it says that. It's empty!!!
  22. A neibhboorhood watch might be a good thing. We live at the corner of Poole Bridge Drive and Poole Bridge Court. We are never aware of what our neighbors are doing or what's going on at anyone else's house. My husband is the worst about saying that we live in a nice, quiet neighborhood and nothing will ever happen here. I'm not so sure!! I don't trust like I used to. Times are tough and people are doing crazy things!! I fell like anything could happen anywhere to anyone. You can never be too careful. If the guy in the Mustang was confronted by someone, I'm assuming that he left a
  23. Wow!!! I had no idea about the duffle bag!! That's really scary!! I'm glad it didn't fall into the wrong hands. What happend with the person in the trees? I didn't hear that or anything about it either.
  24. You're right---it just bolts on. I will get my husband to check for the PCV hose that could be split. My neighbor put the old IAC back on, and the car runs a lot better than with the new one. I get in quite a bit of traffic going to and from work, and it makes me nervous that it might conk out at a red light and not crank back up!! I really appreciate everyone's input and suggestions.
  25. Same thing happened in our subdivison, too!! I heard they caught some teenagers. They didn't really take anything of value. The took a few packs of cigarettes out of my husband's truck and left a cell phone, checkbook, and CDs. It was still unnerving because our bedroom window is right over the driveway.
