The stimulus bill was originally to create jobs (Obama wanted to be another FDR). But he and Pelosi got together to add all the just more spending (PURE PORK). Obama thinks he can do anything he wants and has speeches of gloom and doom if all of it is not passed. Reading the pork items you will see a lot of payback to those electing him........unions, minorities, special interst.
Remember that after the bill is passed in the Senate it has to go BACK to the House for completion. Watch what happens..............added PORK!
Newsweeks front page shows "WE ARE ALL SOCIALIST NOW". The article says our country is now like the European countries and we will become more French. We are in deep d _ _ _ now.
Which way to the revolution (not a threat to over throw the government but a metaphor) and it won't be let them eat cake because we won't be able to buy it.

This is great for the players. We should wish them success in college with grades and outstanding in sports. Maybe one day we will see a Paulding County native playing in the super bowl or another national sports event.

They happen to be a group of Christains that are retired and go around building churches. They do not receive any money and NO, there is no tax dollars involved in the building of the church. The church now meets at Boots Ward on hwy 120, Lost Mtn Park. It is a Lutheran church in the Wiscosin Synod called Mighty Fortress. I know someone who is a member.
Now you pagans can go back to burning bugs.

You need a 12 gage Mossberg 500 for in-home protection. Shorter barrel, bigger spread. As to where you keep it depends on if you have children and the neighborhood where you live. Use a 9mm or 45 to carry in your car. Don't use a 9 or 45 at home because (a) the blast may temporarily blind you and (
you may miss the intruder not to mention the noise in a confined space. A shotgun blast will most likely take down the intruder. Get a permit first and then go to a gun range to practice and learn gun safety. Ask any Marine and he will tell you that you are supposed to shoot to kill. Besides, if you wound an intruder they may sue you and based on the courts today they may win.Or put a sign in your yard that says "Security by Smith and Wesson" or "Glock 9MM Security System".

Who's paying for their college education.........his, hers? Do either have a part time job which could help pay increased expenses? If not, how are they going to pay their share? Do they expect you to do all the laundry, cleaning, cooking and other chores like cutting grass, etc.? Careful because they might think they are in the Hoilday Inn and you are the maid, cook, etc. And it could be extended for a long time..........not ready to move, can't afford to move, need MORE schooling and on and on. Make sure you don't enable them because they never will be independent. My son and his wife lived with us a short period of time. He thought Mom and I should do everything including changing bed linens and cleaning their room. Both worked part time and spent their money on personal items, CDs, movies and felt we should do the rest because "they were still in college". NOT. They moved out after 3 months. I didn't mind helping but it was rediculous. Both were on HOPE and she had part scholarship funds. They ended up doing OK after having to fend for themselves. Of course we helped get them a place and didn't totally cut them off. But two families living together. No way.

Have you seen the latest crap our legislatures are wanting? They want another state-wide tax to help pay for transportation needs such as roads and mass transit. If you read the article in the AJC it is geared to help just the ATL area. The politicians want the mass transit loop that goes around ATL and will serve possibly 3% of the people. Just more pork. They want a constitutional amendment that would require us to vote on before inacting. WE NEED TO STOP THIS NOW! It's time our legislatures and other government leaders start being responsible and balance the budgets or find a way to fix our problems without taxing us every time they have a great idea (to them). We, all of us in the state, need to target these spenders and vote them out of office. And if it is some our own dear sweet locals so be it. STOP THE MADNESS!

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are OK. it's just those self serving freakin idiots running the circus that need to go. They are rioting in Iceland and threatening in England with strikes. The check we received from our neighborly government to stimulate the economy is considered income on your 2008 taxes. But will it be deducted 100% from your refund or added to what you owe 100%? 'Savingrace' put on a previous post that when the question came up at the end of the form on how much you received from the stimulus it deducted all of it. The question on the blog was did the neighborly government just LOAN us the money? It should be added to income total and taxed accordingly and not deducted 100% unless it was another government scam. If this is true then there will be a lot of voters really pissed including me. Also, if it's true a lot of our friends, the liberals, will be crying in their
beertea.Does anyone know the truth on this?
And what about the current stimulus coming as tax credits for none tax payers who will end up getting a check? Will they have to start paying taxes on their check for 2009 taxes?

We have a couple of TV's with digital boxes and a couple without but are hooked up to cable. On the ones without the box we can't get the history channel but we get other channels. I checked and programmed each TV for all channels and even went back to make sure the history channel was programmed but to no avail. Any suggestions? Or is it a ploy by Comcast to make me pay for more digital boxes? When my grandsons visit they like to watch the history channel at bedtime in the bedroom we have for them. The other TV is in my office but no history channel.

Years ago when I lived in S.C. and CB radios were a big think I picked up the handle because I would travel and get from place to place rather quickly. Put the big foot down and go. Also at one time I had a full beard and a pony tail which, when my daughter got married in Newport, R.I., I put in twist like Braveheart and wore my kilts and full Prince Charlie outfit. My grandson said I looked like bigfoot in kilts. And then since I have big feet and that relates to ..........................oh never mind.

They are using the cabin that has been rebuilt at the old cabin site that was there during the unpleasantness (Civil War/War of Northern Agression). The cabin was chosen because of the authendacy (sp). Rough sawed siding, real hand made roof shingles, hand laid rock fireplace. Most of the funding for the cabin came from the "Friends of Civil War Paulding County" which is an organization dedicated to preserving Paulding County History. Great programs and lots of volunteering group. If you're interested in helping the group you can pick up a brochure at Pickett's Mill. Only cost $10 a year and it goes to help with projects. They also help at Pickett's Mill when they have re-enactment events. Great group of people and lots of fun.
