UPDATE! I called the water department today, ready for battle. after the usual "how can I help you"; I led off gently... "I just got my water bill and believe the meter reading was wrong".... ok... now the big battle!!! "Sir, what is your address".... keys typing in the background..... seconds pass.... "do you know what the reading on your meter is?" Me: "why, yes, I do.. its 3360".... keys typing again... more seconds pass.... "we will have someone out Monday to re-read your meter, what phone number would you like us to call you on with the update?"... really? politeness?

made double sure all water in house was off. went to meter and looked at dial. there is no needle, just a dial with odometer type digits. the reading I have is 336,001. now, on the bill it says previous meter reading: 3330 present meter reading: 3557 if my current reading (in hundreds) is 3360 and the previous meter reading used is 3330, then my usage would be 30, or 3,000 gallons, which is basically normal... I've no idea where they come up with a present reading of 3557, but its NOT MY READING! and yes, I took a pic of my meeter reading. MaddogMike

no pools... no ponds.... no leaks... water meter box is dry... and I overstated... its only 22,700 gallons.. on the water bill, in the box labeled "usage hundred gallons", it reads "227" normally it reads "25" to "30"... so I'm thinking its suppose to be "22" or "27"... I believe me and my bill are going to the water department. this 'aint right... unreal.... MaddogMike

How in the heck do you go from $25-ish each month.... 2500 to 3000 gallons a month..... for 6 years..... open THIS months bill and Paulding says you used 227,000 gallons!!! $160.00!!! are you kidding me?????? 2 people... no septic.... Burnt Hickory subdivision...... any of my homies open up THEIR bill? What the H3LL Paulding county??? do you REALLY think I'm just going to pay this??? where's my scotch..... $30 less than last year... AND there were 4 more days in the billing cycle! we averaged like 65kwatt hrs per day last year and only 45kwatt hrs per day this year... went to insulated drapes; had cooler weather; and turned off 2 of the 3 computers that I normally left on 24hrs/day.... go figure... SD

Sure is a nice house..... for $1,950!!!! wonder if they take Visa??? SD And don't forget...... FIVE HUNDRED ACRES!!!!! crap..... credit cards all full......

Thanks so much for the great words, everyone! I've pretty much settled on a 07 or 08 shadow spirit with the shaft drive... WOW Motorcycles in Marietta has an 08 for less than $5k with only 4 or 5 k miles on it... I'm not crazy about its color, though... silver... Sure can't wait to get back in that saddle again! uh-oh..... learned how and rode lots.. in a DESERT!!!! no experience whatsoever with rain!! and not to mention... my 24 year old son got his first bike a couple of months ago... a ninja 250 crotch rocket... he's still learning, but doing really well... Ok, now that I'm back amoungst the gainfully employed..... In an effort to save gas, I am looking to buy a motorcycle. Now, I used to ride ALOT during my early teen years... in the desert of Southern California (Palmdale)... way back,,, yes,, WAY back, in the early '70s! rode a small honda trail bike, a 70, for a while, then got to use my dad's "adult" trail bike, which was a Honda SL175!! WAAAAY to big for me... I had to hold it up with only a big toe on one foot! But I absolutly LOVED that bike and riding in the desert for HOURS every day after school and such!!! Now, skip forward 3

Thank you all for the kind words!! Its been soooooo long, I hope I can re-adjust to a Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 schedule, again! And worse.... What are our 3 cats going to feel like?? I mean, they've been with me the whole time... non stop.... total, unconditional, love and support..... how are they going to deal with entertaining just themselves after I start back??
