I love a good storm!!! As long as there are no tornadoes, of course. The storms from last week during the night were so gusty they blew my windchimes down.

I think most of the horror stories are from the old Paulding Hospital before it was 'Wellstar'. That ER did used to be pretty bad. My hubby's uncle died at that ER because they didnt treat him as quickly as they should have. After Wellstar took over & the new ER building was constructed it is MUCH improved. Kennestone ER is still a nightmare.

I haven't seen gouging yet but prices go up almost everyday lately. Its up to $3.29 at the Chevron in Yorkville. I do remember gouging when Katrina hit. An Exxon in Dallas priced their gas at $4.99 and a Dallas Deputy was pulling in there as I drove by. By the time I came by again about an hour later the price had gone down to 3-something a gallon. I still to this day never buy gas at that store because of that. Crooks.

I was born and raised right here in Paulding County, so I guess if that makes me a redneck so be it. I hate country music though LOL

I grew up in New Hope and went to WC Abney in the mid 1980s. That school sure looks different now than it did when I went there.

Whenever possible I always try to get my gas at the Kroger at 278/61 because I always get 10 cents off per gallon. I live in Yorkville and gas tends to run 5-10 cents higher out here than in Dallas.

I have a Kia Sedona that gets 'okay' mileage - 18 mpg. Slightly better than my old Ford Explorer used to get which got like 14 mpg.

You can go to the WSBTV website and sign up for severe weather alerts. I get text messages on my cell phone anytime a watch or warning is issued. I like it better this way because it wakes me up but doesnt wake up the kiddos just for a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

NO WAY. I personally would not want to work for a company that requires that. Sounds pretty tyrannical to me. Facebook has nothing to do with work, it is a personal leisure thing. What if they want to put cameras in your house to make sure you dont do illegal activities at home? Where does it stop??

Yep! I grew up in New Hope and the house I grew up in was haunted or something, it was scary. The plane crash in '77 happened in the literal front yard of that house and I think it was haunted cause of that, or the civil war battle there. I saw & heard weird stuff in that house. I have several ghost stories, but nobody would be believe me or would just think Im nuts lol. Just take my word to never play a ouija board, ever!

The blue line stickers mean *nothing. My husband is a police officer. So many people have those stickers these days, trust me they do NOT keep you out of getting a citation or from even getting pulled over, trust me.

There is snow on the roads here in Yorkville, my husband says he will be surprised if there is school tomorrow but I dont know how the rest of the county looks. I went to Kroger earlier and it was wicked cold, I think they should close the schools just due to the sheer cold out there.

This is true. The Motorola Droids are awesome. I've also used the Droid Eris by HTC and the LG Ally which also runs on Android. I returned the Ally after 2 days, it froze up alot and was sluggish and the Eris just doesnt do as much as the Moto Droid. Try CNET.com. They have reviews for practically every phone ever made, I always check them before I get a phone.

The Droid X phone has a built in HD camcorder. We recorded videos at Six Flags this summer with it. We did some videos on the coasters and it looked amazing, VERY clear & crisp especially for moving video. If you're with Verizon and need an HD camcorder too, get a Droid X.

I have owned a Blackberry Storm, and I-Phone 3G, and a the original Moto Droid. The Iphone is by far the best phone out of all of them. We left AT&T for Verizon earlier this year though because we despise AT&T and are using Droids for now, but Verizon is supposed to get the Iphone next year so we're waiting for that! The Iphone is the best phone out there hands down!

No way!! Paulding County is already over-developed. I grew up here & I liked it better back then. When I grew up in New Hope there was nothing there but the Rock Store & a small gas station. Now that place is a mess and I avoid Hiram at all costs, I hate the traffic!

My favorite Droid app at the moment is 'Word Up'. It is a word puzzle game and I swear I play it for HOURS. Its so fun! I also love Ghost Radar and Google Sky Map. Ghost Radar gives you readings on paranormal entities around you, and Google Sky Map is AWESOME - point it at the sky and it'll tell you what Star or planet you're looking at.

Actually traditional schools are cheaper than Medix. I enrolled in Medix this summer for the medical assisting classes. It was going to cost me $15000 for the 9 month class. Well I quit after 4 weeks. Medix is trashy. The teachers are lazy, I had to spend 3-4 hrs a night doing homework cause all we did in class was watch movies that had nothing to do with the curriculum and listen to the teachers talk about their kids - Im serious! That school is a freakin joke. I am now going to GNTC taking the LPN course, and this course is only $4000, it costs less than 1/3 of Medix's crappy MA co

Cops DO get paid for court appearances, I am married to one! He has gotten paid for every single court appearance he has ever made, and yes traffic court too. And trust me the cop will more than likely be at court, they will get in ALOT of trouble if they dont show up for their court dates. If by some stretch the cop doesnt show up, the court date will just be extended, you will not win by default. Just to let you know.....
