  1. The series was awesome! All the players gave 100%. We had 4 homeruns total. (Baseballmom's son hit one of those! ) Great job, South!!!
  2. While I expect the military to release photos at some point, this one is not real. Osama bin Laden Photo Fake
  3. The South Paulding Spartans have qualified for state play-offs for the THIRD year in a row! Come out tonight to South Paulding High School for a GREAT game! We will begin the evening by honoring our Senior baseball players, and then taking on the Pope Greyhounds for the region title. Game time is 5:55pm, but arrive about 5:30 to congratulate our seniors. Come out and support our team and our county. See you at the field!
  4. It was earlier when it first happened. (I know because I heard it, but I've had several customers since then.) It was an accident with entrapment (I didn't hear how many cars) and the deputy who arrived on scene said the vehicle was on fire. I know the FFs set up a command there, so it was pretty bad. Like I said, I had customers come in, so I didn't hear the outcome, but it was a while ago.
  5. Come watch as the South Paulding Spartans host the Marietta Blue Devils tonight at 5:55pm. It's sure to be a great game! The weather's beautiful, and the temp is just right to watch America's favorite game. See ya there! Go SOUTH!!! :clapping:
  6. You're NOT nuts....it did snow! It was 1989. I remember it well. It had been really cold for awhile, and we woke up on Christmas morning to a White Christmas! I was living in Cedartown, and I drove to Hiram to my Mom's. It was the first Christmas in their new house at Lake Swan. It had been so cold that the edges of the lake were frozen, too. We all played outside in the snow. My brother (18 years old and 100 lbs soaking wet) walked out pretty far on the ice. My uncle (who was about 300 lbs) took a step toward him, and we heard a big CRACK. My brother looked like Fred Flintst
  7. Voting for FARA and praying for you and your family!
  8. I love the Wearhouse, too! They have great deals, and they're super friendly folks!
  9. Just for the record, I don't think he was being mean to the Fairy. I think he was poking fun at me because I was a little upset at her last night for her thread about the SOs and EMTs. But I didn't take it as mean-spirited at all. Just a little light hearted humor. I can laugh at myself!
  10. I'm not going to call the police. I just don't believe this warrants that type of response. If it becomes a continuous problem, then I may need to do something like that, but not now. I've already tried to find a phone number, but there isn't one. I do have the address, though. And I definitely don't have time to go to court (or LA) over this! That would cost me more money than the $100 bucks I'm out now! Sorry, all. Thanks for listening. I probably shouldn't have posted anything, I was just upset for a few minutes. Like everyone else, I'm stressed with all that needs to
  11. Believe me, I thought of that! But it's a lot! Over 15 bags of garbage! The waste from our company takes up a lot of room (which is why we have a large dumpster) but they've left us NO room for our own trash. I'm trying not to let it ruin my day. :deepbreath:
  12. As an FYI for people who may not understand how it works: Please do NOT use our commercial dumpster to dump your personal garbage in. We pay a monthly fee for our business. Now, because there is no longer enough room for OUR garbage, we must schedule an ADDITIONAL trash pick-up. Guess what - you saved yourself a little inconvenience, and maybe a couple of dollars. I have to pay OVER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS extra now to get rid of YOUR garbage. (And right at Christmas time, too!) PS - When using someone else's dumpster, it's never smart to empty garbage with your name and address on it
  13. You certainly said a lot, to only say that. While I can understand your frustration, these type of situations require us to step outside of our own circumstances and consider the bigger picture. MANY people tonight had multiple hour commutes due to the weather. (One of my FB friends is still waiting on her husband to be home. It usually takes him 45 minutes to get home. He's going on 5 1/2 hours right now.) Just a bit of friendly advice....you might want to consider changing your topic title. I consider that to be quite a slanderous statement, especially considering - by your own
  14. I've been listening to the scanner for hours now. It is unbelievable out there! So many wrecks, and still other "regular" incidents to deal with. The entire time, I've heard EACH & EVERY deputy speak professionally and courteously! They are communicating with each other and dispatch to help each other as much as possible. These ladies and gentlemen have worked tirelessly to serve the people of our community! They've never sounded irritated or burdened by their call of duty - quite the opposite. One incident in particular....hours ago, a man fell down while trying to walk after hi
  15. About half an hour ago, dispatch let the deputies know that DOT had one salt truck on Buchanan Hwy and another on the way. I don't know which area, though. Hopefully she will be home soon. This has been a terrible commute for so many tonight!
  16. My WONDERFUL husband has steaks on the grill, baked potatoes, AND he made a pot of his homemade brunswick stew for tomorrow! :yahoo:
  17. My husband came home about 20 minutes ago. He had been traveling north from the Newnan area. He said all the roads are glazed over and very slippery. He witnessed several near misses with other drivers sliding off the roadway. Everyone, be careful!
  18. It's an accident involving 2 cars and a pedestrian. As I was listening, the patient was unresponsive. I don't know the age of the person. Lifeflight was called. I've been busy at work, and missed a lot of the scanner traffic.
  19. It doesn't make it any better for those involved, but I worry so much about our young drivers (especially since I have one!)
  20. That's where the Trooper was going that flew past us on 61! I hope everyone is okay. With the location, I always worry about it being one of the high school students. If anyone hears anything, please let us know!
