  1. Just an observation here... I'm a little surprised to read on the School website & Facebook page custodians are instructed to work tomorrow. I thought a couple or three years ago custodial services were outsourced to a contractor. I would think that contractor would be expected to communicate work schedules to their employees. I'm not trying to start anything, the wording of the notification caught my attention & seemed a little odd to me.
  2. Ours came back on about 10 this morning.
  3. Greystone. East Paulding. Hwy 120 Substation. Approaching 55 hours without power.
  4. Just passed 48 hours with no power.
  5. Actually schools need to be closed Tuesday too. The wind is getting up to 10mph.
  6. Actually he's from Paulding County and he did it so he would be the first one to know the power is back on. Or maybe he did it not knowing the power is off?
  7. If you are in my neighborhood, I'm going to drag your body out of the way so the truck can get to my driveway. After all if you are dead, you don't need power anymore.
  8. Power has been out 41 hours. According to the Graystone app we are on the 120 Substation and shows Service Interrupted. We had an all electric house in SC. I learned about 1975 I never wanted to live in all electric house again. I'm convinced now I learned that lesson well back then. Thank goodness for gas heat, hot water, cooking and gas logs. Lowest our house got down to last night was 68 degrees and it's 70 degrees inside now.
  9. We bought this house almost 30 years ago. I bought a truck load of firewood and we had 1 fire. Then I bought a set of gas fire logs during the old Austell Home Depot Grand Opening. These gas fire logs have kept us nice and warm during this storm and few others in years past. Sure is easier lighting them instead of dealing with firewood.
  10. We are in East Paulding. Power has been out since about 5pm.
  11. This will be a good night to watch Fox News. There's several other good story's that came out today. Mainly about more of those who love Hillary and are / were involved in investigations where you would think those being investigated should be given a fair shake.
  12. I think there is hope. He has posted the best Christmas decorations this year. President Trump like TP knows good Christmas decorations when he sees them.
  13. I've got to agree with everything you & TP are saying. I certainly hope this sad story and thousands like it poke at the hearts of parents who find their family in turmoil and causes them to seek out help to restore their homes to provide a loving a nurturing place for their children to be raised. Families will not find hope, love and care for their children in a government program or court.
  14. Obviously you and I had a lot different experiences in the work place. I always worked for sharp people who wanted sharp people on their team and they knew how to attract them and keep them. I sure miss the big Christmas bonuses and performance bonuses. But heck, I saved them and when I turned 60 I retired. I do what I want, when I want, how I want.
  15. We might disagree on economics & politics. But we do agree the prettier mayoral candidate won.
  16. You talk about the English Settlers. Just think about what they accomplished with just the hand tools they brought over from England. They did not have a government to provide for them. They worked hard or they starved. Those who worked real smart provided opportunities for others. Heck my Grandparents were share croppers in Dawson Cty. When my Grandfather died, my Grandmother worked the crops with a couple of small children till she either left the farm or was thrown off the farm (the reason for leaving the farm is now lost). She took the 2 small kids to the train station in Flowery Branch
  17. I've said it before. When I was working for about 40+ years, when the people with lots of money made money, I made more money. Those I worked for were very generous. Many that were generous or their families were generous years ago are still generous today. You watch who contributes to help those in need, take their funds away and see who goes hungry. I read an article years ago, so long ago that I can't remember where it came from that said if all the money in the world was equally distributed between all the people of the world, that in about 7 years the wealth would be back distributed
  18. I don't really buy that poor people keep getting poorer. I think a lot of it is those who don't have everything they want don't think it's fair those considered rich have more nicer stuff. I think about my Mom & Dad who bought a 2 room house without indoor plumbing in 1952 for $2,000 from my grandmother. They were all middle class. The local savings & loan would not give Daddy $2,000 to add a kitchen & bathroom till he paid the first $2,000 back. I think about our first house payment being $147 a month in 1972 when I took home $75 a week. We considered ourselves middle class.
  19. A little PeeCom observation here? The Democrats reporting their estimate in this topic think they are getting the short end of the stick and will pay more taxes on less income? And the Republicans posting their estimate in this topic are excited thinking all will be wonderful and will pay less taxes on more income?
  20. Several business news reports said they closed 10 yesterday. I hate it, I liked their food and always got good service.
  21. I'm a male who has known a couple of women who could not escape the trap once they were in it. I'm assuming these guys are masters at identifying targets who will become victims of their evil mind control.
  22. Here is the arrest record from the jail website.
  23. The press knows there are story's out there. But because of their own political bias, advertising income and desire for ratings... They now create their own FAKE NEWS. And we aren't eating it up any longer. This is why Donald Trump has such a social media following that is growing daily.
  24. • At our house and at other friends & family everyday from Dec 15 to Jan 1. • Everyday from Dec 15 to Jan 1. • 1 gift on Christmas Eve, Immediate family on Christmas Day. • Turkey, Ham & Chicken. • All dinners from Dec 15 to Jan 1 are "Main". Being in ours 60's with wife's mother and family in SC and adult children, grand children and 1) new great grand child in GA and with many friends plus family members working around Health Care work schedules, many different dinners happen on different days. The days of everyone gathering around 1 main table are now a memory of the past.
  25. Based on my visit to the Dallas WalMart yesterday around noon I say people are not scared. People were laughing and smiling and spending. The employees had smiles on their faces as big as the customers.
