  1. I apologize for the omission it was not intentional. Thank you very much.
  2. I don't do well with potted plants or hanging baskets. A lot of people that move to Ga or live in a new home here think they can't garden. 2 ladies moved next door to me swore they could not grow anything. I have been tutoring them on how to grow in Ga this year. I will take pictures of their garden and post them. They don't weed, they only water, you will be amazed at what we have in just one season. It id a 99% perennial garden and it will be amazing next year.
  3. I shared it. Hopefully he will find a way to keep his home for his children.
  4. I hope the wind does not take anything out, I need the rain bad. Some of the storms last week skipped us.
  5. I have been under the weather so I didn't do any gardening for a week. I had to this morning, most of my plants that I love grow very tall. The dahlias,( the yellow ones) get 8-10 feet tall and produce huge blooms. They have just started blooming. The pink are hardy hibiscus they get about 6ft but the dinner plate size blooms easily pull them over with a little wind. They are in my back garden by the pool. I took some pictures of the front yard gardens because you lose a lot of blooms in heavy rains. Of course you get a great re-bloom fairly quickly too. Excuse the pic
  6. Are there any organizations that help with financial aid fro veterans? There is a vet on a nextdoor site looking for any kind of work or aid to catch up his mortgage. He has to young sons he supports. This is all I know about the situation. I would like to point him in the right direction. He has a full time job, he is looking to pick up odd jobs.
  7. Baby attacked and killed by family dog HALL COUNTY, Ga. - The Hall County Sheriff's Office says a 22-day-old baby has died after being attacked by a dog inside her family's home. The sheriff said the attack happened at a home on Gillsville Highway, in a bedroom where the 3-week-old girl was sleeping. The baby was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries, where she died, officials said. I can't imagine what this family is going through to lose their infant child and family pet. It is hard to imagine your pet attacking your child. At the end of the day a

    Disturbing?

Here Are 7 Mildly Disturbing Facts You Wish Weren't True But Actually Are 1. "The farthest point on the planet you can be from civilization in any direction is a blip in the Pacific Ocean called Point Nemo." 2. "In toddlers, their adult teeth are right underneath their eyes." 4. "In France, a pig was dressed in human clothes, tried in court and was sentence[d] to death." 5. "Have you ever thought about how whales and dolphins die? When they get too old and weak to swim to the surface to breathe, they start sinking into the cold, dark depths of the ocean, and suffocate." 6. "
  9. Coroner says victims of fatal wreck are from Hall, Paulding counties Four of the seven victims who died in Saturday’s crash on Interstate 85 in Franklin County are from Hall County. The Hall County victims were traveling southbound in the Chevrolet work van. Franklin County Coroner Scott OBarr on Sunday identified those victims as Alejandro Agis Perez, 53; Noe Guti
  10. I well remember the 4th at your house. The fireworks over the lake were awesome. Franky took a chunk of his pay check and put on a wonderful show for us. We gave Telia her Valium before we started. We have awesome neighbors, it was lit up for about 2 hours and all stopped by midnight.
  11. New generation continuing Paulding family's annual bluegrass festival tradition Tom Spigolon @TSpigolonNBR West Ga Neighbor. Rickey Rakestraw can remember the audience sitting on boards atop segments of power poles during the first few Raccoon Creek Bluegrass Festivals his parents hosted in the mid-1970s. “It was very primitive,” Rakestraw recalled. Now, a wooden covering keeps the July sun and rain off the audience and performers in a 365-seat permanent amphitheater. The festival site is equipped with some camper hookups, and a children’s area keeps young attendees occupied whi
  12. County helping Costco land deal for new store as Walmart expands existing Dallas location County officials say they are doing all they can to help national retailer Costco complete a deal to bring its new store and possibly hundreds of jobs to Paulding. And another national retailer, Walmart, is investing almost $3 million for renovations to its Dallas store which operates on the same road. The Paulding County government is working with the two parties to complete the deal for Costco’s planned site on Charles Hardy Parkway in Dallas months after it submitted plans for the store, County
  13. Good morning Mrs. Doubtfire! Is that breakfast I smell or is your bosom on fire again?
  14. If you do a search of drug bust you will find something interesting the backs up something I have heard. The counties west of Atlanta have a lot of meth bust. Someone told me that all the meth in metro comes out of the western counties ours included. I don't want to feed into the national news that was being used to hijack the thread. The mug shots show primarily white trashy looking drug users. They are taking advantage of rural less developed areas to make meth. This thread really is not about south American countries producing cocaine and blackmailing fathers and brother's to be mules and c
  15. Hey Caped, how was that Friday Food Truck Birthday dinner last night????
  16. Nope political discussion goes in the political forum always. There is only one direction that conversation goes. Those that love political debate above all things interject it into every conversation on hear and people are sick of it myself included. Some would argue with a fence post. All the same players every day playing the same game on here.
  17. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! TO ONE OF MY OLDEST AND DEAREST FRIENDS WE HAVE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES OVER THE YEARS 2011
  18. I keep thinking what if someones pet wondered down there or some teens tried to turn around in the driveway. Sound guy we must live very close to one another because I can see the horse farm from my porch across the power lines when the leaves and brush fall. As Americans our lives are so comfortable compared to over 1/2 the world yet we medicate to change our reality. Meth is the drug of choice for the poor and there is almost no returning from it. Maybe the supply dried up and someone might seek help.
  19. It use to be a horse farm. It is at the very back of the subdivision sitting by itself. I will probably hear more as time goes on like how long they were there. I see a big pile of destroyed families and ruined people. People are raising young families in this neighborhood. We could have had really bad problems down the road.

  21. Around 9:30 am residents of Burnt Hickory subdivision heard multiple gunshots. Shortly after that ambulance and deputies were seen at the end of Williams road. Shortly after the SWAT team and sheriffs were seen headed to the same area. Hazmat was at the seen when 2 people were seen being placed into custody. This is all that i known for now, fire trucks and hazmat are still on the scene. Pictures were published by a resident that observed the activity around 12:30 pm.
  22. There is always a bunch of hot air about diversifying the tax base in Paulding. What I see is almost every corner and lot and piece of frontage going commercial. Directly behind that, I see more expensive housing being built. We are organized against affordable housing. It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to go 5 miles during rush hour on the main thoroughfares through Paulding. As always our splost continue to create parks that generate more need for county services. You don't have to be a genius to see where it is all going. I would hazard to guess that the number of people inside o
  23. I have visited some very large cities on the east coast. New York, Boston, and DC. I have taken public transit from the suburbs to the inner cities. I have also taken the train from NYC to Connecticut and back. I am sure it would surprise many to know that these trains are full of people making over 100,000 a year. Many work on laptops to and from. It is important to many of these people to be at work on time and also get home in time to have a life in the evenings. The trains are also important to people that want to spend a good deal of their time off in the mountains skiing or at the shore
  24. Actually many behaviors are predictable. We are constantly manipulated quite easily. We don't always see everything that influences a child. A mentally ill person may never commit a violent crime, but their children might, due to how damaged they are. Scientist that study the mind know quite a lot about behaviors. Most of us are not exposed to behavioral science or psychology until college. There is curriculum available to help children to understand action and reaction starting in pre-k. We could possibly spot problems with children much earlier and through teachings prevent a lot of bullyin
  25. Our society is becoming sicker and sicker. Drug addiction, overdoses, suicides, murders. Depression is at an all time high. It is scary to think how many kids might be contemplating shooting at the school but don't follow through. I remember when my son was a young teen we would often discuss current events and politics when I drove him home from school. He constantly came up with the answer of killing people to solve problems. I pointed it out to him and we had a deep conversation about his thought process. We see all over the world where social and political problems are addressed wi
