  1. I know we have all seen this. abandoned chairs on the beach. People just walk away and leave chairs, umbrellas and other things they are too lazy and sorry to take to the trash. I don't know what is in the minds of people that liter. I was raised never to do it. As in the car stopped on the side of the road and a stern lecture for throwing anything out the window. The pictures of innocent animals dying a slow and agonizing death from pollution turn my stomach. What did this animal and others do to deserve this other than not being born human I can't imagine. It seems life is only precious when it is our own, suffering only counts when it is our own. The link takes you to CNN to the photo contest this was part of. Cruelty in nature does not justify cruelty in humans as many think we know what we are doing, that is what is so tragic.
  2. I will put up a sign and box at Hubby's office and see if I can get some other business owners to help also. Is there some specifics you are desperately in need of?
  3. It was nice to meet one of your team members at the Dallas Farmers market this Saturday. I was admiring some of your plants. I look forward to adding some to my garden.
  4. Student's handmade 'U.T.' T-shirt logo goes viral (CNN)A Florida student obsessed with the University of Tennessee wanted to represent the Volunteers during his elementary school's "College Colors Day," but didn't own any of their apparel -- so he took the matter into his own hands. Laura Snyder, his teacher at Altamonte Elementary School in Altamonte Springs, says he drew a "U.T.", the university's logo, on paper and pinned it to an orange t-shirt. "When the day finally arrived, he was SO EXCITED to show me his shirt," Snyder wrote Wednesday on Facebook. "I was impressed that he took it one step further to make his own label." But by lunch time, the spirited Vols fan was in tears. "Some girls at the lunch table next to his (who didn't even participate in college colors day) had made fun of his sign that he had attached to his shirt. He was DEVASTATED," said Snyder. 9/6/19 - UT really outdid themselves!! I was so excited to surprise my student today!! I’m not even sure I can put into words his reaction. It was so heartwarming. My student was so amazed at all the goodies in the box. He proudly put on the jersey and one of the many hats in the box. All who saw had either goosebumps or tears while we explained that he had inspired and touched the lives of so many people. When I told him that his design was being made into a real shirt and people wanted to wear it, his jaw dropped. He had a big smile on his face, walked taller, and I could tell his confidence grew today! Thank you to the UT Nation for that!! When we brought the box upstairs to share with the rest of my class they were surprised as well!! I had a lot of fun pulling each item out and showing it to them. They were really impressed with the notes that were included as well! Then the fun part set in.. my student got to pass out UT swag to his classmates. They were ecstatic!! They immediately put on the bracelets and asked if they could fill up the water bottles. Then they went to our class sink and soaked the cooling towels to put around their necks. My students even enjoyed using their new pens to complete their writing quiz! While the kids were filling water bottles and waiting to water down their towels, it made this teacher so proud to see the kids congratulating my student. High fives, hugs, pats on the back could be seen from the kids. This experience is uniting my class even more than I could have imagined, and it was truly amazing to witness!! The Vols spirit was definitely felt In my classroom today! THANK YOU so much so all who have made this such a positive experience for my student, and also showing the rest of my class what it’s like to come together and be kind. Personally, I’m looking forward to wearing the shirt he designed. It’ll be the one and only piece of orange clothing that this Seminoles fan will ever wear! & !! 8. No they are not, most content should be searchable.
  9. I don't mind it being used. Schools are not used for other purposes on Sundays or even Sunday nights or Wednesdays. Renting it out would not prevent the use of it as intended. My question is would renting it out prevent the use of other activities in the building during church services. I wish the OP would elaborate on where the money goes. We have built a lot of new parks and we are maintaining them at taxpayers expense.
  10. Teen goes ‘blind’ from 7-year diet of french fries, white bread and ham slices, doctors say This is an extreme case. I have known some picky eaters that I have health concerns for. I think that as a whole we are less concerned about the effects of bad diets because we have never seen the results of malnutrition up close. We have so many foods available to us now we don't take it seriously. I have said many times we need to have comprehensive nutrition curriculum starting as early as first grade. I have known many children that simply don't have tools to eat properly and stay healthy. An extreme case of “fussy eating” caused blindness in a United Kingdom teenager, according to a report published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine. When Denize Atan, the study’s lead author, met the 17-year-old boy at Bristol Eye Hospital, his eyesight had been deteriorating for two years. But what shocked her most was “how long the patient’s eating behaviour had persisted,” Atan wrote in an email Tuesday to The Washington Post. “By the time I first met him, he had followed the same diet for [approximately seven] years.” By 15, the boy’s hearing began failing, and then the vision complications arrived. Doctors could not determine what was causing either symptom. After two years of progressive vision loss, the boy was declared legally blind. Additional testing uncovered that his vitamin B12 deficiency had not waned. He had also developed a reduced bone mineral density level, and had high levels of zinc and low levels of copper, selenium and vitamin D.

  16. I test drove about 40 cars. I started at a Honda dealer, Then Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, we ended up at Carmax which was an awesome experience. We loved test driving whatever we wanted without thee paperwork and the get the key process that took 20 minutes. We also loved shopping their huge inventory on line, which is where we fond my car. I am in love with it. I opened the sun roof when it cooled as I drove down Dabbs bridge. I will not elaborate but I put her through her paces and she performed beautifully. The interstate was a little difficult it was hard to keep her under 80 she settled in at that pace or I did to be honest but I kept it in check. Mrs. Surepip shared in my joy and teased my about smiling so long I was going to have a sore face. So here she is.
