  1. There are a lot of areas where the cost of living isn't nearly has high as Atl, NY, LA, Chicago etc. I happen to live in one now. Cost of living has more to do with lifestyle then anything else. Where did I say that? I said people should get paid based on their skill set and value.
  2. Low skill work equals low pay everywhere in the world. How much money do you think someone sweep floors and assembling hamburgers is worth. The more you can increase your skills and make yourself rare the more money you will command. That's why pro baller players make, and earn, so much. There are very few people that have their skill set. This is really very basic.
  3. Yup. Was on a jury for over 3 weeks. Sequestored away from family and friends when I was only 20 years old. Rape case. Go to the courthouse after 3 weeks of trial to have the lawyer stand up and admit his client the "victim" had been lieing the whole time. Granted that didn't help the defendent get out of the two murder charges that he was on trial for next. It's an experience that everyone should go through. I never understood how you can sue for wrongful death after a not guilty criminal verdict in the first place. ...by the way. At 17 years old if some fat ass wanna be cop was
  4. ....because it isn't our job or problem that these folks made repeated poor life choices. It isn't my job to over pay them, and it isn't the gov'ts job to provide them with a way of life that they have not earned. I started working those types of jobs when I was 14 years old and through hard work, no longer have to. These folks choose differently. Not my job, duty or responsablity to make up for their poor life choices. Now if they have a handicap etc. that is a different story and that is where we as a society have a duty to help them. It shouldn't be through the gov't, but through private or
  5. No one knows who confronted who first. Thats the actual facts no matter how much the "Self Defense" bandwagon wants to ignore it. I agree 110% that BOTH men could have avoided this situatuion. Martin could have kept walking, Zimmerman could have let LEO handle it. I have an issue with the "Self Defense" when the stalking of the kid is what got Zimmerman in his "fight" in the first place. Had he let the real cops do their jobs then there would have been no need for him to use "self defense". When the local LEO's gave their presnation to our 'hood on how to handle the neighborhood watch
  6. Even if they pay him he will end up handing it over to the Martin family when they win their civil case against him. Just spinning our wheels on this one as guilty as NBC is. Oh, and it is true that "not guilty" is not the same as innocent. If you have ever had jury duty on a criminal case you know this.
  7. As someone that is in charge of several retail stores this is the last thing you want. The cost of goods would rise beyond belief. The simple truth is if you are an adult over the age of 24 and you are having to work at McDs or even a retail store in the lower ranks you either aren't trying or you just don't care. I see it every day. There is no reason that the rest of us should pay more for goods and services because of others poor life choices. You could give most of these folks triple their currrent pay and they STILL would be living in their parents basements smoking and drinking the extra
  8. Based on the "facts" and the law he should have been found guilty of man slaugther. He commited an act that lead directly to someones death. (following him when there was no need lead to the confrontation) How anyone can find this man "innocent" is beyond me. Truth is he will end up getting killed himself at somepoint if he isn't really good at hiding. We have two idiots that couldn't just let things be that will both be in the bottom of a 6 foot hole when this is all said and done. Darwinism at it's finest.
  9. Yeah this really isn't that hard of a choice to make. Or I could just let her keep killing folks so I don't have to figure out how to come up with the other half of my retirement fund.
  10. Real smart folks. Permit. No Permit. Booze and Guns don't mix. It's one of the first things they cover in gun saftey class....but hey, lets not infringe on our "Rights" to be complete idiots.
  11. Depends on the wreck but yes. However, that is comparing apples to oranges. You may NEED a pickup truck, for several reasons and if you do it doesn't matter how much safer a Volvo is you have to buy the truck. A car seat on the other hand is a car seat, they all perform the same task some just better then others. Part of the issue is they don't publically release the actual crash data from the NHSTA in the US. You can find a lot of the German testing, especially by Benz and BMW online but you have to speak the Germany to be able to read it. Common sense and observation plays the biggest ro
  12. Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. YES they all meet the min standard but if you don't think there is a difference between them you are kidding yourself. Granted at some point you are paying for a name but if you think the 50 dollar one is engineered at the same level as a 300 one you are kidding yourself.
  13. The Saftey First with Air are the best. My father worked with the engineer that designed these when they did the crash test using GM's labs. When my sister had her kids and I had mine my father bought the top of the line Saftey First Air car seat/stroller system and convertable car seat for each of them. He said no Grandchild of his would ride in anything else after seeing the test results compared to other brands.
  14. In the famous words of Pulp Fiction... "lets not start sucking each others D***s yet gentlemen" We need to see when the 4th qtr retail numbers come out before we get all happy happy
  15. Uh, Yeah. This kid obviously is feed nothing but McDonalds and Milk Shakes. He's huge. http://news.yahoo.com/video/fat-letter-sent-parents-10-222644135.html
  16. This is true. The reason for the surge is NOT about "optomism" for the economy though.
  17. I do that just to hide the fact I have not done dishes after the wife gets back from a weekend out of town....dating has nothing to do with it.
  18. I will have to read up on this poor little guy. Thanks for the info.
  19. One of the scariest numbers is the personal income decrease...and from what I heard on CBS news it was a 20 year record for a one month decline...most of this directly related to layoffs, AND the removal of the 2% tax break...Only issue I have is that back when Obama gave us that 2% break everyone claimed it made little to no difference and now we are bitching and moaning because they took it away.
  20. Is he from around GA? I didn't read all this so I'm just wondering because there is a large group of folks in Michigan that are posting to FB etc. my wife said....including some folks in the racing community?????? A good friend of mine that drives short track cars was attempting to raise funds for him with a special paint job on his car (I THINK ITS THE SAME KID, SO PLEASE DON'T QUOTE ME) up in Michigan. Just wondering?
  21. I wouldn't work somewhere that only paid me 2.13 an hour, if servers are free to look for other jobs if they are not happy with theirs no different then the rest of us. They CHOOSE to do that for a living.
  22. Very true but luckly those folks were smart enough to save and have that money for those issues rather then lose everything. No shame in that.
  23. Spare me. EVERY job you have to doeal with some sort of idiot, it's called life. No they don't cook the food but they do see it before they bring it out and if I order a steak you sure as hell better not bring me chicken. I don't know a server that doesn't eat out, and eat well, because they barely pay for food. A few kids I know that are waiters at Red Lobster at night and work for me during the day have literally brought in WHOLE lobsters for lunch....for FREE. My college roomate worked at Pizza Hut as a waiter EVERY night he brought home at least two large. Infact he got some much f
  24. The whole tipping system in this country is insane. We are paying waiters salaries, not the owners of resturants. I tip for what tipping stands for To Insure Prompt Service. I dont' tip based on a social standard that I am SUPPOSE to because these folks bosses don't want to fork over the dough. I have tipped 20 bucks for a 20 dollar lunch for my wife and I and I have left a dollar on a 100 bill. You want a tip....EARN IT.
