  1. Mr. Kenneth Edward Headrick, affectionately known to his family and friends as “Kenny”, age 55 of Temple passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. Kenny was born on September 12, 1961 in Ashland, Alabama to loving parents, the late Mr. Joseph Edward Headrick and Mrs. Mildred Uneeda Johnson Headrick. An electrician, Kenny worked for Inglett and Stubbs for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, clay shooting, and riding ATV’s. Kenny was an active volunteer with the Floyd County Wildlife Association and loved teaching children to hunt, fish, and shoot. In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by his grandparents. Kenny is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mrs. Laura Headrick of Temple; two beloved dogs, Walker and Chisum; 4 siblings, Mr. Joseph Paul Headrick and his wife, Susie of Dallas, Mrs. Carolyn Shears and her husband, Rodney of Lineville, Alabama, Ms. Brenda H. Bell of Munford, Alabama, and Mrs. Mary J. Sprayberry and her husband, Scott of Lineville, Alabama; 2 nephews, Mr. Timmy Headrick and his wife, Kendra of Knoxville, Tennessee and Mr. Donovan Sprayberry of Lineville, Alabama; 3 nieces, Ms. Teresa Headrick of Georgia, Mrs. Stacie Wyatt of Delta, Alabama, and Mrs. Jennifer Frank of Munford, Alabama; Aunt, Geraldean Headrick of Lineville and Uncle Burnon Headrick of San Bernadino, California. In addition, several great nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service for Kenny Headrick will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 6 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Floyd County Wildlife Association, the Paulding County Humane Society or to the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship in memory of Debra Singleton, Mildred Headrick and Carolyn Smith.   2. Mr. Mark Kevin Lawson, age 51, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his residence. Mark was born in Bluefield, WV, on May 14, 1965, the son of Joyce Craiger Carter. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. Mark loved working on his house, hot rods and riding his motorcycle. Mark is survived by two sons, Blake Lawson of Acworth, GA, and Brad Lawson of Kennesaw, GA; four grandchildren, Olivia Lawson, Tristin Lawson, Railei Lawson and Max Lawson; mother, Joyce Carter of Hiram, GA; two brothers, Wayne Lawson of Hiram and Jeff Lawson of Douglasville. Funeral services for Mark will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.   3. Mrs. Lena Louise Beavers, age 92, of Dallas went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2016. Lena was born on October 8, 1924 in Dallas to loving parents, the late Mr. Samuel Clifford Leggett and Mrs. Delia Baker Leggett. Lena married Hugh Beavers on July 29, 1945. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and fishing. She especially loved making quilts for her family. A Christian, she loved the Lord and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and served with the Willing Workers there. In addition to her parents, Lena is preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert Leggett, Homer Leggett, and J.D. Leggett. Lena is survived by her husband of 71 years, Mr. Hugh Beavers of Dallas; four sons, Richard and Fran Beavers of Cartersville, Charles and Paula Beavers of Dallas, Lewis and Fonda Beavers of Dallas, and Phillip and Phyllis Beavers of Hiram; eight grandchildren, Terri and Dennis Underhill of Dallas, Bammie and Michael Whitaker of Hiram, John Beavers of Dallas, Misty and Stephen Weaver of Dallas, Adam Beavers of Dallas, and Amy and Jonathan Culpepper of Dallas, Kim and Bob Harrison of Woodstock, and Dan and Mandy Gastineau of Marietta; eleven great grandchildren, Tori and Joshua Moses of Villa Rica, Brooke Whitaker of Hiram, Sydney Weaver, Emma Weaver, Ryker Beavers, Allyn Beavers, Bryson Beavers, Hudson Beavers, Davis Culpepper all of Dallas, Bobby Harrison of Woodstock and Josie Gastineau of Marietta; two siblings, Max and Shirley Leggett of Dallas and Jeanette and Wendell Benson of Dallas. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services for Lena Louise Beavers will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11 AM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Thomas and Rev. C.L. Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. John Beavers, Adam Beavers, Stephen Weaver, Michael Whitaker, Dennis Underhill, and Jonathan Culpepper will serve as pallbearers with the Deacons of Pine Ridge Baptist Church serving as honorary pallbearers.   4. Mr. James William Wise, affectionately known to his family and friends as “J.W.”, age 74, of Dallas passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016. J.W. was born on January 1, 1942 in Kingston, Tennessee to loving parents, the late Mr. Clyde Wise and Mrs. Elizabeth Tinnel Wise. A veteran of the United States Army, J.W. served his country proudly in the Vietnam War and Korean Conflict. He married Minnie Greene Wise on December 20, 1959 and made his home in Dallas, Georgia. He worked for the Paulding County School System as a bus driver for many years. J.W. was a Christian and loved the Lord. He pastored several local churches in his life time most notably McPherson Baptist Church and New Canaan Fellowship Baptist Church in Mableton. At the time of his death, J.W. was a member of Young Street Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. J.W is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Minnie Wise; three daughters, Mrs. Karen and Brock Starr of Canton, Mrs. Reena and Tommy Smith of Temple, and Ms. Nancy Walter of Rockmart; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends also survive. The funeral service for Mr. J.W. Wise will be held in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2 PM with Rev. Donald Collum and Rev. Max Padgett officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia with Rev. Billy Lord officiating the committal service.   5. Mrs. Kimberly Sue Fioretto, age 58, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday morning, October 23, 2016, following a lengthy illness. Kimberly was born in Toledo, OH, on October 6, 1958, the daughter of the late James Harold Young and Marilyn Joyce Roper Young. She had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County since the early to mid 1980's. Kimberly was a housewife and paralegal who loved arts and crafts, gardening and taking long walks. Kimberly is survived by her son, Michael "Mike" Fioretto, of Dallas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Young Adendroth and her husband, Paul, of Ottawa Hills, OH, and Nancy Young Wood, of Jensen Beach, FL; an aunt, Olga Roper, of San Antonio, TX. several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. A Celebration of Life for Kimberly will be held at a later date. The staff of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Kimberly Sue Fioretto.
  6. Mrs. Ruth McWilliams Parson, affectionately known as "Granny Ruth" to her family and friends, age 83, of Hiram passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Ruth was born on December 8, 1932 in Austell, Georgia to loving parents, the late Mr. Charlie McWilliams and Mrs. Millie Jones McWilliams. A loving wife and mother, Ruth was a devoted homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and she loved flowers. A Christian, Ruth loved the Lord and attended East Hiram Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Gene Parson; two brothers, Paul McWilliams and Grady McWilliams; and one sister, Frances Brown. Ruth is survived by her three children, Ronnie and Mary Parson of Hiram; Craig and Becky Parson also of Hiram, and Theresa Shirley of Dallas; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services for Ruth McWilliams Parson will be conducted on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Pastor Rickey Bice officiating.   7. Alisha Brewer Pilgrim, age 35, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 10, 2016. Alisha was born on April 3, 1981 in Marietta, Georgia to loving parents, Jimmy and Lavelle Brewer. A loving mother, Alisha enjoyed spending time with her five year old son, Brock. She also enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football. A Christian, she was a member of Narroway Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Loyd Brewer. Alisha is survived by her husband, Jeremy Pilgrim of Dallas; 1 Son, Brock Pilgrim of Dallas; Parents, Jimmy and Lavelle Brewer; Sister, Lana Brewer Pruett; Nephews, Jackson Pruett and Everett Pilgrim; Niece, Jocelyn Pilgrim; Paternal Grandmother, Edna Lucille Brewer; Maternal Grandparents, Waitcel and Marie Thomason; Father and Mother In Law, Clinton and Penny Pilgrim; Brother and Sister In Law, Jason and Ashley Pilgrim all of Dallas and many other relatives and friends.   8. Mrs. Cynthia Ellen Register, age 59, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Thursday morning, October 6, 2016. Cynthia was born in Oliver Springs, TN, on September 20, 1957, the daughter of Robert Eugene French and the late Ethelene Bray French. She was a housewife and homemaker. Cynthia loved all kinds of arts and crafts, enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. She was an avid gardener who loved to preserve, through canning, the fruits of her labor. In addition to her mother, Cynthia was preceded in death by a sister, Anita French. Cynthia is survived by her husband, Gary Max Register, whom she married in August of 1985; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Harold Crabtree of Allardt, TN, and Amanda and William Frye of Dallas; one sister, Maryianne French of Knoxville, TN, one brother, Robert S, French also of Knoxville. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service to honor the memory of Cynthia Ellen Register will be held at Premier Sharp Funeral Home, which is located at 209 Roane Street, Oliver Springs, TN on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5-8 PM.   9. Mr. Gary Dean Franks, age 58, of Dallas passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Gary was born on March 21, 1958 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to loving parents, Mrs. Gwendolyn Lance Franks and the late Mr. Edward Franks. A Veteran, Gary served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a construction worker. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his father, Gary is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Franks. Gary is survived by his two sons, Dylan Franks of Dallas and Ryan and MaryAnne Franks of Fort Belvore, Virginia; 5 grandchildren; Mother, Gwendolyn Lance Franks of Dallas; 1 brother, Tim Franks of Austell and 3 sisters, Jan Dispain and her husband, Mike, of Lawrenceville, Kay Hudgins and her husband, Melvin, of Snellville, and Gail Mulford and her husband, Kent, of Blairsville; and girlfriend, Shelly Seamans of Dallas. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. Per his wishes, Gary will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.   10. Mrs. Wilma Jean Farmer Weathers, age 85, of Dallas passed away peacefully at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Wilma was born on August 17, 1931 in Franklin, Georgia to loving parents, the late Mr. Jordan Farmer and Mrs. Vera Mae Marlow Farmer. Wilma was a homemaker and also drove a school bus for many years. A hard worker, she enjoyed being active, working in the yard, quilting and sewing. A Christian, Wilma was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William O. Weathers; 3 brothers, Travis Farmer, Ulis Farmer, and Gary Farmer; and one sister, Sara Daniell. Wilma is survived by her three children, Dwight Weathers and his wife, Charlene, of Carrollton, Sue Traylor and her husband, Mike, of Dallas, and Rusty Weathers and his wife, Sharon, also of Dallas; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.   11. Mr. Danny Lamar McClung, age 69, of Dallas, GA, died suddenly, Saturday evening, September 24, 2016. Danny was born in Villa Rica, GA, on March 20, 1947, the son of the late J.B. McClung, Jr., and Lizzie Mae “Shorty” Garner McClung. He had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County the greater part of his life. Danny was a faithful member of the Bethany Christian Church. He retired in 2003 from Lockheed, having worked there from the age of 19 years old. Danny loved cars, trucks, working of the farm and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Elaine Vaughn. Danny is survived by his wife, Dale Thomason McClung, whom he married on August 28, 1987; children and their spouses, Jason and Casie McClung, Gabriel Smith, Brandi and Barry Goughler, Heather McClung and Israel Smith; grandchildren, Caiti Rakestraw, Justin McClung, Cody Smith, Courtney Smith, Jacob McClung, Nickolas Goughler, Ashlynn Bishop, Eli Smith and Rylan Rychlik; brothers and sister-in-law, Ricky McClung, and Benny and Pam McClung; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judy and David Jones, Tony and Mona Alexander and Ben and Patty Vaughn. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.   12. Mr. Charles Clifton Pope, Sr., age 72, of Aragon Ga., passed away on Friday evening, September 16, 2016 at his son's residence. Charles was born in Aragon, GA, on June 4, 1944, the son of the late Earnest Terry and Emma Williams Pope. Mr. Pope enjoyed fishing and was of the Baptist faith. Charles was a retired maintenance worker. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Pope; daughters, Vickie Hall and Connie Pope and his sister, Frances Lucille Pawley. Charles is survived by two sons, Charles Clifton Pope, Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of Dallas, GA, and Danny Wayne Pope of Dallas, Ga.; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Mr. Paul Pope of Cedartown, and his previous wife, Dorothy Pope.   13. James Doyal "Jim" Atcheson, age 58, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Jim was born on September 19, 1957, in Atlanta, GA, to loving parents, the late Doyal Richard Atcheson and Mary Virginia Camp Atcheson. Jim worked as a forklift driver for Caraustar Industries for many years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Dallas. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his son, Ben Kennedy, and his sister, Patty Brady. Jim is survived by his wife, Carla Regina Walker Atcheson, to whom he married on September 22, 1983; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Natalie Atcheson of Dallas, Alicia and Jason Prather of Powder Springs, GA, and Kimberly and John Hicks of Rockmart, GA; three grandchildren, Jacob Thackston, Anna Prather and Jace Hicks; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorese and Rick King of Hiram, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.   14. Terry "Ted" Sullivan, age 51, of Buchanan, GA, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. Ted was born on December 10, 1964, in Dallas, GA, the son of Shirley Parson Sullivan and the late Eugene Sullivan. He had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County for the greater part of his life. Ted was a superintendent for Willow Construction Company for many years and he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his down time. He also loved to cookout with his friends and family and take his motorcycle out for a ride. In addition to his father, Ted is preceded in death by his brother, Shannon Tracy Sullivan. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Lee Harris Sullivan, to whom he married on July 6, 2007; mother, Shirley Parson Sullivan of Dallas; one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Tina Sullivan of Buchanan, GA; one sister, Cindy English of Dallas; three nephews, Casey Shead, Cody Waldrep and Kendall English; two nieces, Maggie and Katie Sullivan. Also surviving are the other two of their three stooges, Greg Agan and Steve Woodruff. A memorial service to honor the life of Terry “Ted” Sullivan will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral with Rev. Eddie Wyatt officiating.   15. Mrs. Nancy M. Beaty, age 73, of Dallas, GA, has passed away at her residence and was welcomed into the Heavenly arms of our Lord on Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2016. Nancy was born in Atlanta GA, on April 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph Harris Morgan, III, and Marcelle A. Hinkle Morgan. She had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County for the greater part of her life. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. Nancy, along with her husband, W. Brooks Beaty, was the owner and operator of Brothers Tire Company for many years. She was also owner of Fancy Nancy’s Boutique and a past officer in the PC Chamber of Commerce. Nancy was a smart businesswoman, an accomplished artist, loved photography and was a lover of animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brooks Beaty, on August 25, 1980, whom she married in February of 1970. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Linda Jo Morgan and Susan Caroline Morgan, and a brother, William Dedrick Gercken. Nancy’s spirit lives on through her two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Swantek of Canton, GA, and Carey Ninette Beaty of Douglasville, GA; and one son and daughter-in-law, Troy Morgan Beaty and wife, Nancy of Rockmart, GA; five grandchildren, Kristopher W. B. Key and wife, Lindsey of Smyrna, Diana Brooke Swantek, also of Smyrna, Justin Matthew Swantek, Mary Alise Swantek and Julianne Morgan Swantek; one great-grandson, Brooks Harris Key and one great-grandson-to-be, Tristan Ryan Shearer; one sister, Marcella (Cindy) Prater and her husband David, of Panama City Beach, FL; a sister-in-law, Dawn Shorr Gercken of Birmingham, AL; nieces, Hilary Weston, Rebecca Gercken and Amy Prater; nephews, William, Robert, and John Gercken and Eric Prater. Several grand nephews and nieces also survive. Nancy, also known as Mema, Momma, Mom, and Big Sister, had a beautiful sense of humor, was very generous, and cared deeply for her family and Yorkie puppies. She had an unforgettable will and determination to push through all of life’s difficulties. She was one who never gave up on anyone or anything, and her courage and strength will live on in all of her family members. Nancy may have left our Earth, but she is now happily reunited with those she loved so dearly, and with great joy watches over her precious family. A private graveside funeral service for Nancy was held on Friday afternoon, August 19, 2016, in the Forsyth City Cemetery, Forsyth, GA.
