  1. There's no doubt that Will Avery is a stronger, better candidate than Paulette. But I believe Paulette will win because the Democrats in Washington (Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc) have hurt the state and local democratic party. I'll be voting for Avery and Barnes too, but I just think Washington has done too much damage to make a difference in this election.

By the way, it's no fun taking a ride to jail in a police car, but that doesn't mean diddly... charges dismissed means the po-po didn't use good judgement in the 1st place.

  2. Barnes' biggest obstacle is the turn the national democrat party has taken. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama have hurt many state and local democrats. If Barnes can distance himself from the democrats in Washington, he might have a decent shot at winning the election.

If the GOP keeps up attacking Barnes trying to associate him with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, then Barnes is in trouble. The RoyBama ads have been particularly brutal on Barnes in the polls.

It's a tough choice, but I won't vote for Deal, he's an absolute crook.

  3. Name some things that were done that was not in the best interest of the students. I believe this board and Mr. Cole have

nothing but the best interest of the students in their minds.

You're kidding! The entire Board needs to resign. They spend $ millions on a new gym for the kids to play basketball in, yet students don't have books? I know certain funds can only be used for capital projects, but in the grand scheme of things, folks see money being spent here and money being spent there, yet Little Susie doesn't have school books....Do you see a problem with that?

We've been burned by the BOE in the past and we're crazy if we give them more money to burn us again.

VOTE NO to giving those vultures even one penny.

  4. I always vote NO on anything to do with the schools. The school board throws money out the window all day long and even the principal at PCHS makes over $100,000 a year. I'd like to cut his pay and stop wasting money on pet projects before voting a tax increase on myself. My kid doesn't even have a math book this year, but they have a nice gym to play basketball in. What's wrong with that?

Please send a message to the school board and vote NO on the tax.

  5. If you're going to be a criminal, why not commit a more respectable crime like illegal gambling or running moonshine? at least the community would know the motivation behind your vices was making some quick money because the economy has tanked. Even some cops turn a blind eye towards those types of things.

What is gained by enticing a child? the severe psychological and emotional problems the victim has could last a lifetime. Dang. even if Cochran is eventually found not guilty, his reputation as well as his family name is tarnished in this community. I know not every one who is charged with a crime is in fact guilty. Maybe he is, maybe he's not, but even being charged with child molestation makes you "look" guilty.

If you are a friend of Mr. Cochran, better hope he doesn't get Judge Beavers...

  6. I think I'm voting for Avery. I like his attitude and enthusiasm. All of the candidates will have the same political pressures if elected. That isn't a variable that can be controlled. I feel his having a fresh perspective and positive energy will allow him to deal more effectively with the issues at hand rather than being bogged down by baggage.

Plus, he is a cutie. That doesn't hurt, either.

I agree, ....except for the cutie thing, Paulette has him beat there ;-)

  7. You do realize there are legal ramifications to this sort of garbage, right? If there is something and is does not directly bear on the candidate HERself, you should cease with the innuendo or lawyer up, dude! Your candidate must be trailing in the polls, huh? Beverly Cochran 's own character is not at question is it? .....I thought not rolleyes.gif

ANIMAL is a big supporter of Adam Gregory. I doubt the Gregory campaign would approve of this sort of garbage. I'm sure the Pownall campaign would not approve of it either.

If you don't like Beverly, don't vote for her, it's that simple.

  8. BEWARE OF A WOLF IN SHEEPS SKIN !!I Must ask myself, Who would Give back their salary ? To me that sounds EXACTLY obamalike.[the greater good thing is socialism, and can not be hidden from the Real Truth] I would rather Pay a Man for His Honest Days Work.

John McCain was another so called "republican".... We can not comprimise Principles... I will Vote for Ms. Cochran, Thank You

    5 posts? Hmmm

  9. Ok, maybe I was a bit harsh and I apologize. We all have bad days, thoughts that escape us and for whatever reason forget to spell a word here or there, but it is obviously much different for the reader when the author is misspelling words in every sentence. Again, I apologize for being harsh, but its annoying as hell. If you know that your a bad speller at least have the common courtesy to lookup the word or words if you have the slightest hint that you may be misspelling any. It makes the experience so much better for the reader.

    Have a good day.

Maybe Tracy1234 is a cop.... the folks at Arby's probably weren't hiring.

  10. GOP Rules! aka: Tmilanese or Reagan Republican:

I have to admit you never struck me as being much of a marketer/sales type, so I'm not surprised you don't understand why Todd's 'we are in this together so lets pull together' attitude is critically important to the economic recovery of the county.

But I guess some folks (Todd) have vision and others don't.

    pubby

    excellent observation pubby :good:

  11. Wow, I didn't know that their influence was so great that they could PICK our county commissioners!!

If Surepip's influence was that great, I'd be willing to bet his case would have gone to court long ago!

However, fact is that there are no Democratic challengers in many of the races, so this is the only vote that counts. Why should they not have just as much right to campaign for their selected candidate as anyone does?

I don't want the guy STOUT to win, (his sexual relationship with his mother in law is the reason why)

I don't want Jason to win, his vote for spousal benefits for same-sex couple while he was in Doraville is why!

Also, I don't want Beverly to win (her past association with King Jerry is the reason why. )So, It's not that I'm for a particular candidate, I'm just against these two...

Also, I'd like to recall all of the school board, but apparently there are many voters who love those lying, cheating, lowdown, crooked dirty dogs.

  12. ECONOMICS 101: A decrease in the value of one's assets is a bad thing. :(

Why do smart buyers prefer stocks of good companies that have gone done in value? ( I like Tootsie Roll stock, it has paid dividens for decades and will continue to do so. Income Investors think long term. Buy and hold the stocks, get great dividends. the market has historically like dividend paying stocks better than non-dividend paying stocks.

Same for homes. Buy while they're cheep, hold them for at least 8 years, collect average rent and sell down the road when the prices go back up. Duh! Right now is a GREAT time to invest in homes in Paulding County. We're not talking slums either. Good newer homes are selling for tens of thousands below their value. Here's a fact. Our county is still one of the fastest growing in the State and people will need homes and you can rent a nice home cheaper than an apartment. When the market picks back up, you'll make a fortune. Think LOOOOONNNNGGG term.

Back to the election though. Which candidates will focus on job growth and bring industry to this county?

  13. Are we suppose to celebrate the extreme devaluation of our properties over the past three years?

Anytime my taxes go DOWN, I do celebrate. Devaluation is great for buyers who can pick up extra real estate at cheaper prices. I for one love to buy houses...bunches and bunches of houses. Fix them up and make rentals out of them which will provide an income for my kids and grandkids for years to come. I don't have the nerve to fool with commercial properties though. I won't be selling any properties for the next few years though.

As far as this election goes, I pretty much am against the SPLOST and I don't like that guy named Jason Anavarte.
