An even easier way (no e-mailing to yourself required) is to use the Image Resizer PowerToy from Microsoft. Click here for this and other PowerToys.

Once installed, you simply right-click the image, choose 'Resize...', select the size you want, and in an instant the picture is resized. No e-mailing necessary.

This is yet another way to do the image resize... It is using a tool like photobucket to store your images and reduce them. I reduced this one to half its original size and used the image tags to show it.
