Debra Singletary called from the game at Sprayberry which is nothing like mayberry but more like mudberry she says.
Hiram was down 21-0 when they scored once in the first half with about five minutes left. After the second half kickoff, Hiram score twice unanswered to bring the score to a tie at 21-all with just over 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter at the mudberry field at Sprayberry.

add on:
Sprayberry was driving and had reached the Hornet 5 yard line but incurred a penalty and tried and failed on a field goal attempt. Hiram has the ball now on their own 20 yard line with six minutes left. Score remains tied 21-all

Thanks for the update Pubby and please let us know if you hear anything else. Can't believe Hiram was down 21-0 in this game - what a comeback! Keeping my fingers crossed for a Hiram win!

Sprayberry scores a TD but fails with its extra point try - 28 Hiram - 27 Sprayberry ... I mean mudberry.
3:17 left in the game with Hiram receiving the ball from Mudberry on a kickoff.
(The report is a Hiram defender deflected the ball which hit the goal post but failed to go through.

Sprayberry on their 10 yard line with 19 seconds..left.
Clock is stopped with 2 seconds on the clock ... it was an incomplete pass ... still on their own 10 yard line.
almost ready to call it but the game's not over until the refs say it is ... two second ... maybe less on the clock ... oh, the refs reset the clock to 4 seconds ... incomplete pass.
here we go ... good deal ... final Hiram wins.

Congratulations!

#24 is Trey Wesley. He had a good game running in that mudpit. #8 is Viondi Jones who blocked the extra point kick. Those kids played their hearts out and got a victory! The QB for Sprayberry was pretty elusive all night long.
What a great game! This is Debra, there and reporting....check out Pcom 4 Teens show on Sunday night around 8:30 pm for some highlights, a clip of the tying TD, some enthusiastic fans, some words from a few of the players and Coach Dorsey.
Way to go Hornets! And of course the Band of Gold was awesome!!!!
