East Paulding Raiders and Harrison Hoyas were tied going into the game last Friday for 4th place in 5-AAAAA. With Harrison’s victory over East Paulding 21-12, this dropped the Raiders down to 5th in the Region. While it was a tough loss for the Raiders, there is a slight chance the Raiders could still make it to the play offs.

There are band pictures included in the galleries with the game pictures.

Trivia Question: Not including the 2006 game against Woodland (Cartersville) of 70-0, what is the highest point spread in the history of East Paulding?

The biggest point spread before 2006 Woodland 70-0 that EP was on the winning side of was back in 1993 when they beat Salem high school 56-0 at home. East Paulding would go on to have a record of 9-1, they beat teams like Greater Atlanta Christian, Bremen and Landmark Christian. Coach Same Sprewell was the head coach that year.

Is that the best you can do David. LOL, got anything that might stump me.

Funny, my next trivia question was going to be "What is the real name of Cowbellman?". You cannot answer that yourself and spoil the fun for others.

You gave the answer for East Paulding being on the winning side. That is not what was asked. I give you credit for getting the winning side. Go back to your research. smile.gif

We have to give our raiders credit, they have been on top for the last 3 years. So there having some adjustments, there still our champions. laugh.gif

yeah, tough year. It has been really tough, I have been fortunate to spend time around these boys this year and get to know them. They aren't just the Raiders to me, they are MY BOYS wub.gif , every single one of them. I have seen how tough this season has been on them mentally, we may not take it all but they won't just give up. We have a lot of great talent this year and still coming up. Don't think for one moment that they are done, and they have nothing left because they do. wub.gif

LOL, wow, I completely forgot about EP losing to Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe in 2002 58-0. Coach Bryan Powell was the head coach then. As far as I know 58 points is the largest margin of victory or defeat that the raiders have been involved with other than the 70-0 scoring fest they had against Woodland. Now how are you gonna ask a question that I'm not allowed to answer, that's just not fair. biggrin.gif

OK, here is a special question just for you. Who was the first EP player to score a TD in EP history?

Any photos of the Harrison band? I'd love to see them and possibly buy a few. Also, you could send your link to the Harrison football booster club. http://www.harrisonh....com/board.html The parents may be interested in buying some of your photos.

smile.gif Never had to use the restrooms. It was a good time for all of us. Seating was fine, cheeseburgers were good. We had no problems whatsoever. Oh, it was so cold, but we had blankets and jackets. We didn't walk to the home side to hear the bands. Too bad neither could march on the field, it was just too muddy. With upcoming competitions I don't think either band wanted to have to clean Georgia clay out of their uniforms.

Yeah the fields were a big mess, I was working the booth at half time so I never got to see the bands at all. Glad you had a good time

If East can win one of their last two games and Harriosn loses both of their then we can still get in as the 4th seed. Harrison plays Marietta, and Etowah. They should lose both. Hopefully we can beat Cherokee this week, cause Woodstock will be very tough.
