*CC APPROVED*
As many of you know, Paulding County K-9 Officer, Chico, was recently retired. Deputy Hurst now has a new K-9 partner, named Major.

Pcom membed, Freebird, and myself, have teamed up the past 2 years to successfully raise enough money to vest both K-9 Grep and K-9 Grizz. We couldn't have done this without the support of Stevie B's Pizza, Paulding County and Pcom members.

So, here we are again turning to those who have helped most in the past few years. I realize that the economy is tough, and even $1 here or there will help.

For those new to the site, we (Freebird and myself) have teamed up with Vest 'N PDP, Inc, a non-profit organization, to vest our local K-9's. The vests are Bullet Proof, Stab Proof Vests. Without this protection, our K-9's are put at a greater risk of being hurt or killed while on duty sad.gif .

We currently have a "credit" with Vest N PDP, which we are in process of getting, I believe it is approx. $100.

We are also in process of working with Stevie B's, whom is going to donate "Free Buffett" tickets, which I will "sell". We then generally have a "Luncheon" where everyone can meet the K-9 (or K-9's) and thier handlers.

Also, any and all donations can either be made via check payable to Vest N PDP (tax deductible), or you can go online to Vestnpdp.com and there is a link to paypal. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO NOTE: "PAULDING COUNTY" or "MAJOR", also, send either Freebird or myself a PM, as we are keeping up with the funds also.''

I know this must now go through the Community Chest, so, please can someone tell me how to go about that?

As long as Citizens are donating directly to a 501c3 organization, I believe your request is fine on the board. smile.gif We wish you luck!!!

OK, great! Freebird, or myself, ALWAYS list any donations we get either cash (generally Stevie B's tickets), checks or paypal. We are continually emailing each other, as well as Susie Jean and generally the Deputy involved. This way everyone stays in the "loop".

You know you have all the help I can do. I have had to honor of meeting Major and he is a beautiful K-9. Deputy Hurst brought him to the shop.
Here is a pic of the newest member to PCSO along with his partner Deputy Hurst.

Happy retirement to Chico & welcome to Major!

How wonderful we have another fundraiser and still have a little bit of funds left over, but I know these are not cheap at all (and are very necessary) .....

I'll pass on the news to look for jars & the sale of tickets! smile.gif

I'm not sure what happens to them. I know that Major is bigger than Chico , so his vest won't fit Major.
Thanks for your help wub.gif

I also would like to add (forgot in the original) that the vests are fitted specially for the K-9. The vests also have the K-9's name embroidered in them. I will go into my pics from last year (and before). These vests are NOT CHEAP...Susie Jean has partnered with a company that sells them to her, for basically cost. Her cost is just under $700 (I think it is $695).

Tony Stewart is also very active in her organization...please, check out her website~www.vestnpdp.com

I just got a email from Susie Jean...she has recieved 4 paypal donations, but, they weren't all labeled. So, if you sent a paypal donation in, please send me a PM with the amount, so it gets applied to the correct account (Major), otherwise, it will just go into the account that vests the dogs "on the list", per say.

Thanks everyone wub.gif

If anyone wants a tax deduction slip, I will need them to either:

1) write a check to Vest N PDP (I'll get it from you) - please, put a sticky on it saying they want the donation slip
2) they can pay via paypal (CC) - fees will come out of that money
3) they can give cash, but, I'll need a sticky with thier information and that they want a note.

I can't personally do the letter, it must come from Susie Jean (owner of Vest N PDP).

I have been very busy the past few weeks, so, I've been "slacking" on the fundraiser :ninja: .

I want to let everyone know that we have another, close to $50 that came in for a donation (paypal takes out fees).

Please, pass word around ~ even quarters help

Thanks

The cost of a vest is @ $1500, Vest N PDP, gets them for "cost", so, we need to raise right at $700

Gorgeous dogs. Is one a Belgian Malinois and the other a Belgian Tervuren?
I will be on the lookout for the donation jars. This is a wonderful cause, since those vests are definitely needed by the K-9 officers. What happens to Chico's vest and can it be reused?

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride"!

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. -Marilyn Monroe

I think I can get that for you....I do marketing and I believe I can get a couple of my clients to help...not only is it for a great cause but it would be great PR for them as well....

 Any donation, little or big, is appreciated. Also, go check out Susie's site (www.vestnpdp.com) - she actually lists "large" sponsers (and there is a 700 club). Tony Stewart is a big force behind her as well. Also, it is tax-deductible for them. Please PM me if you need anymore information

Gorgeous dogs. Is one a Belgian Malinois and the other a Belgian Tervuren?
I will be on the lookout for the donation jars. This is a wonderful cause, since those vests are definitely needed by the K-9 officers. What happens to Chico's vest and can it be reused?

Grep, I beleive is a Belgian Malinois, and I'm not sure about Grizz or Major. I have yet to meet Major, or his handler. I am not sure what has happened to Chico's vest, but, the vests are fitted specifically for each dog, and only have a "shelf life", per say of 5 years (I think 5 yrs is the #). Of couse and "expired" vest is better than none, until an new vest can be purchased/donated.

I havent forgotten about the Avon Fundraiser either...setting it up now! I will donate my earnings from orders placed for the Vest Fundraiser. Since my earnings vary each order...I can track it online and then just write a check each month.

Here is the E-Party link http://lgibson1730.a...r_evnt_id=15427

You can shop online and have it shipped to your house or I can deliver it to you.

Any questions let me know.

That is awesome, LisaG! Thank you so much~

As of right now we have $91.72 total in donations ~ I'll keep this post UTD as I learn more, and hopefully next week I will get w/ Stevie B's regarding the fundraiser there.
