Thanks SOLO I will tell Darlene to get in touch with you. This man is a good worker if he only had a job and a way to get to work he might could get his life stright. Thanks so much for your help. I think he just needs a little encouragement and to know that someone cares. We all need someone to make it in this hard times.
Thanks Ej78.

Glad to help. Nobody deserves to be cold. Let us know if we can do anything else. I don't have a bunch of money but can contribute some to get his heat turned on.
ETA: I really do believe GOD helps those who help others.

Well until I can help him get a job, he has no way to pay the power bill. And he is total electric.

Folks you are making this old man cry like a baby. I am sitting here with big tears of joy running down my face. It doesn't get any better than this. This is what God ment when he said to love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for a friend. You are my friend if you do what so ever I ask. Thank all of you for helping this man and God will remember you all. I believe with all of my heart that if you ever get in the same shape that this man is in that God will send you the same help that you are giving this man. God Bless you all.

His last job was installing garage doors. but I think he can do anything you ask him to do. If we can help him find a job bringin home say $100.00 a week that would be enough to pay his power bill and lot rent. That is all he needs to survive right now.

How much does he owe and to who? Greystone or Ga Power? Maybe we can pay enough on his account to get him through a month or so if everyone will pitch in a little if they can. Let us know...

I have set your topic visible again. The Pcom Community Chest has been notified and are in the process of reviewing this case. They will contact you soon.
Citizens should know that a request does not necessarily need to be "approved" by the CC in order to donate, but you do so at your own risk. The CC is designed to prevent fraud on the board; and each case (regardless of the pcommer posting the request) is treated in the same manner.
Thank you and my apologies for any confusion.

or does he need sandwich items?
Darlene got him on food stamps but I don't know how much food that he has. Darlene said the man that owns the land that his trailer is on has not been payed for months so we are hoping that he will let him stay untill he can get a job and get things straighten out. She said that he said he would just go to a shelter for the homeless if it wasn't for his dogs. She can't ask for money because this has not been approved be CC which is my fault because I didn't know how to do that . So if we can just get him some wood to keep him warm for now maybe she can get with everyone later about the rest. Thanks and God bless.

Right now the concern is the cold weather, we got him some blankets last night but we are focusing on getting him some wood to burn in his fire place, with a fire also comes a means to cook.
The power bill, is an issue not so much as getting it turned back on as it is having him the means to keep it on, his water is from a well which him and a neighbor share, he has some broken pipes under the trailor which I am going to fix. The lot rent, Darlene spoke with the owner and he said he has no intention of evicting him he just needs to stay in contact with him so he knows he is trying, and he is he just keeps getting the doors shut in his face. With his living conditions he is not as presentable as someone with all of the ammenities of home, he is in his mid 50's and just needs a hand up until he can get his feet back under him
The gentleman has fell on some real hard times, long story short he has no car, no job and needs some help, we have been looking for a job, he is a hard worker he just can't find nothing within walking distance, if he could do odd jobs and make $100 a week he can get by, he just has no transportation.
Thank You to everyon e who has volunteered to help, we will be in contact. If you need some work done he is very willing to work you can contact me or Darlene and we can try to arrange it, he lives off Businees 6 about a half mile from Ingles.
Again Thank You for your help, concerns and prayers for this man.

He owes it to greystone. His original bill is like $199 ( I think have to double check this again) however they want a reconnection fee of like $500.00. But my biggest concern is getting him a job to keep it up each month. I would hate to do all this and then it get cut right back off, because he has no way to pay it. I am trying to find him a job in walking distance. All he needs to make it is around $100.00 a week. That would pay his lot rent ( he owns the trailor- but not the land it sits on) and keep his power on.
I will ask him today when we take the wood to him. he is willing to do anything--just not sure if knows how to do it. But he wants to do something.

We are picking some of the wood up today and some more tommorow in between church services. And maybe some more on Monday. So we can see what he has after all this.
I thought he had blankets, but I asked him last night and he said no. So we went and bought him three. One is the snuggi that he wears like a coat around the house. Two others just plain. I am not sure about his clothes. He does have a coat. I will find out more today when we go over there to take the wood.
I will let you know soon. Thanks so very much.
Yes he can do that. I will have to make sure he gets to wherever, but I can do that. He is not a very big man, but he is determinded and will work as long as there is something to do.

If the power company would be willing to work with him on the reconnection fee, maybe this is a possibility. I would be willing to donate what I could toward it. Wouldn't be much, but a little from many would make a lot. And, maybe enough could be collected to pay for a couple of months until he gets back on his feet. I don't have any wood to donate, but I would like to do something. We never know when it could be any one of us. I have always heard the majority of American's are 3 paychecks away from being homeless. Please let me know what I can do.
