I know this is over a month away but, I want this done before the last minute. This way whomever the recipient is, will have time to plan ahead. I would like to challenge other pcommers to do the same. We would be providing a Thanksgiving Dinner for one Family who has NOT previously signed up with any other agency/church or organization for a Turkey Dinner. How many other pcommers are with us, to provide a Thanksgiving Dinner for a Family in need??

Please, help me, in deciding on, "how" to choose a Family.

This is what I have to start off with, anymore suggestions????
Turkey
Mac-n-Cheese
Potatoes
Green Beans
Dozen of eggs
Rolls
Cake Mix & Frosting

Please DO NOT post screen names in the thread, I do NOT want to embarrass anyone. Please send pm's for anything other than food suggestions.

Thanks,
Mrs G

Whats about sweet potatoes/yams, canned cranberry sauce?

Are you talking about preparing the meal and providing it or just providing the ingredients to a recipient and they prepare it themselves?

Providing the main ingredients, just give them a food box/basket type deal. I can't cook worth a flip.

Thanks, that would go great with NC-17's fixings.

I still need suggestions on "how" to figure out who will be getting the dinners. <img src="http://paulding.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unknw.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":unknw:" border="0" alt="unknw.gif" />

i was thinking a poll would be a good way to decide who gets it, of course you couldnt post any names but perhaps a short story on the families situations like family A:....... family B...... then do a poll with an option for each family, maybe enough people would want to participate to provide for more than one. anything you need for this let me know, last year it was very short notice but i think we made a huge impact on the family. i would love to do it again.

My family and I did this a few years back...I just paid attention to certain threads and could see the need, yet the person we donated to NEVER asked for any help or handouts. I am sure you could think of a few people on here that would never ask, but need it. PM them, you can certainly do this without being offensive.

At this point, I don't know what all is needed. When I am at the point of puttung it all together, I will know then. I would like to have all of the donations picked up/delivered by the week before so, I can tell what is needed to complete the boxes. (make sense?)
