Ive yet to find something that WILL kill monkey grass. i would spray grass and weed killer in a hidden spot to see what it does.
i cut the monkey grass here down with the mower every year and it comes back fuller each time

The only way we have gotten the grass and weeds out of monkey grass was to weed by hand.

The last time I had monkey grass it had become very thick and had to be thinned. We dug it up in sections and removed the grass from one foot on each side of where we would replant. This allowed us to weed the clumps, to share and to cover the bare area with mulch. It was easier to keep the weeds out that way also.

Have fun and God bless,
Denise

Ginger Whiteis Photography is located in Dallas, Ga. Ginger Whiteis has been a photographer for 15 years. Last year we moved into a house on Hwy 61, Ponderosa Subdivision, where we have high traffic visability. The 20x25 sunroom makes for a great studio. for some strange reason mowing it makes it grow thicker... ohmy.gif
when I seperate mine I use a serated steak knife to SAWit into strips to be replanted, none of that tugging and ripping it apart, just slice and dice. I cut it front to back and then rotate it into rows.
I love my liriope.. wink.gif

Mow the foliage with the lawnmower set at the greatest height, being careful not to injure the crown. This should be done in late winter before the plants start growing, usually late January to mid-February. This is important for continued growth and to prevent anthracnose, a fungal disease.

We can NOT keep monkey alive. I swear we must be the only people on the planet that can't get it to grow. dry.gif No, I am not kidding about that either.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride"!

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. -Marilyn Monroe

So you're not from the South, that's okay, you got here as fast as you could.
