small hijack: This topic reminded me of a book/movie in my childhood days. I am not a reader but, in my (10-11 yr old) childhood, the most popular book was "Love Story" with Ali McGraw and Ryan O'neal and the book was suppose to contain a lot of "bad words". I got caught with it and my Mother made me give it abck to the girl I borrowed it from, before I could read the first page. I requested that Movie as a gift one time. highjack over: carry on tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif If you can find it, it's an aweosme love story!!!

Currently: "Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You" by Lewis Grizzard. Somehow I'm not getting as much enjoyment out of it as I did years ago when I read it. It almost reads like "East of Eden" for me. That was a book that I just could not pick up. This is the same way. Not sure I'll finish it.

On request: "Candide" by Voltaire. Recommended by a friend.

On hand: "My Sister's Keeper". I bought it Friday and after I finish the above two, I'll read it next.

Running a little behind on my goal of 50 by the end of the year.

I plan on reading that one on my flight to Singapore. I have a 5 hour layover in Tokyo both ways so I'm sure I'll get it finished in time to see the movie in the theaters!

You'll enjoy Candide. I also recommend getting a copy of Leonard Bernstein's operetta based on the work - great fun, and an incredible overture.

Read The Red Tent years ago. IT was a took book!

I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series (that is what the HBO show True Blood is based on) I am hooked on the books and the show.

Also reading Carpe Demon and The Devil in White City.

Carpe Demon is an easy reading choice and the first in a series.

The Devil in White City is historical nonfiction. It is very interest but it is taking some time to read. There are a lot of dates and names. It is about the first world's fair and a serial killer in that period. I would recommend this one.

I have been listening to a new author to me. Blaze Clement. She writes light mysteries about an ex cop who now has a pet sitting business. 1. Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter. 2. Duplicity Dogged the Dachshund. She has a couple more but I could only get these 2 for my MP3 player from Cobb County Library.

I'm so excited! The library called and "Candide" is ready for me to pick up.
