I have been torn between 2 totally different career choices but made my decision today. I was stuck between Pediatric Oncology Nursing (my 7 yr old daughter battled cancer) or Teaching (told you they are totally different choices) and decided on teaching. The thought of teaching is what got me excited about starting college, so I decided not to continue over-thinking it all and just do what gave me peace and joy in the first place. I applied with the University of West GA for the Spring 2009 semester. I will have core classes to take I know and I hope to do what i can online so i can continue my full-time job. At some point, I will quit where I work now and figure something else out. My husband stands beside me.

I was excited to share this news with everyone!

Congrats!!! That is awesome! I absolutely loved college, it was the best four years of my life!

I think you will love being a teacher (my husband has a degree in music education), it is a hard, but rewarding career.

Congrats again!

Congrats. I know how excited you must be. I got accepted for my return to college on my 38th birthday. I loved every minute of it. I worked full time and went to school part time for 2 years before I quit working to do student teaching.

May you enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

Congrats!!! Just one little piece of advise, this is from my experience, try not to take a online math course if it can be avoided. It is very hard to self teach math. Never had any other problem with the other online classes, but after my math fiasco (I did manage to pass with a cool.gif I will only do math with a professor there to help me. Again congrats and good luck!

This is an OLD post from Oct 08 -- who brought it back from the dead????
