I have been on a diet and exercising now really good for about 3 weeks, I was on a diet before but health reasons casued me to have tostop exericsing for a while..

so I am interested in hearing what all of you do, to wtach your weight, and what kind of exercising do you do?

I have the ab lounger, and I also dance to the Hip hopp abs and I love it...

I have thought about getting me a hoola hoop LOL

I am trying to stay away from carbs and eat more protein..

I love grapefruit juice... so I have been drinking a lot of that... I also drink plenty of water... that and my coffee is all I drink..

so let me hear from all of you...

what have you found that woprks for you .....

I didnt know this was here laugh.gif

I've been trying to stick to the same "diet"....pretty much eating 2 or 3 protein bars a day instead of meals.

In the morning I eat a banana, yogurt and protein bar with a glass of water and my usual pills (probiotics, multi-vitamin and another supplement to help with bruising since I'm obviously lacking something) not all at the same time though....that keeps me full til lunch then I have another protein bar or sometimes I'll eat an actual meal and eat a protein bar for dinner.

Just depends my mood...sometimes I don't even eat any laugh.gif

I am doing 100 crunches a day though....and I try to get some walking in. I'd like to get more cardio going on but its not like I can run or jog with a 3 year old laugh.gif Might ask for a gym membership for Christmas but I'm afraid of contracts ninja.gif

Gotta eat to live and not live to eat ya know? smile.gif

Woot!

Blazing Saddles says I'm classy and since he's the ruler of the world, it must be true and what he says counts! Yay me!

I have found over the yrs of dieting , that you should not starve or deny your self of a treat now & then. I used to starve myself (or eat very little low calorie foods) But a few yrs ago, I was sick for a few months & had no appitite, BUT, I did eat several very small meals a day (of anything I wanted)& I lost 40 lbs ! (I wasn't dieting either)
& I always drink lots of water.
Good luck to you, Lady Raider

I lost about 70 lbs about 4 yrs ago. Now I have almost put it all back on and I am so mad about it. I felt so much better when I was smaller and I know that it is alot healthier.
Lady Raider---I am 5'8" and I lost down to a size 8---I had people telling me that I looked sick. I was just so amazed that I could get down that far. Had it not been for my stomach (which I will never loose completely--3 kids back to back and a hystorectomy--muscles are gone!!), I could have gotten into a 6. The 8's were baggy in the seat.
I laugh and tell folks that I have had big boobs and a big butt and little boobs and no butt---and I will take the little boobs and no butt anyday!!

Amen sista LOL

Oh my, reading this really makes me feel like a Fatty Patterson.....

When I started losing in May-ish, I started at 297 bad.gif

Right now, I'm at 250. i got down to 240, but when I started weight training a few weeks ago, I gained significantly, but sizes have gone down drastically. I started at a 26, and am now in between a 20 and a 22.

I joined a gym in Villa Rica, and love it. Since i am a student, it is 20 bucks a month. I think they have the same rate for educators and law enforcement. But, if you do not want to sign a contract, you can pay month by month, which i think is $35. It's xpress fitness. google it! tongue.gif

ETA: Ihave always been overweight, even as a young child. At 5'7", i am expecting to be my smallest at about a 12 or 14 without looking sickly.

What is ZUMBA?

Zumba is basically arobics with a Latin twist! It mixes hip-hop, salsa, and latin dance together for a great work out that is also fun! You should try it out! There are 2 classes a week at the Dallas Jazzercise Center. Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:15 - 8:15. You can do a search on p.com and find it. The instructors name is Melanie. It is a great class.

Allow me to introduce you to Jazzercise as a great way to exercise and have a BLAST doing it. Jazzercise is a 60-minute group fitness class combining cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. We’ve taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training and bundled them into one hour. All ages, levels, and sizes welcome. All of my customers are ladies so there is never that intimidation factor. I encourage everyone to, first and formost, have fun whatever exercise regime you engage in. If you don't, then you won't keep going. We offer a walk-in class for only $10 so if you try it and decide that it's not for you, there's no loss. We don't have any contracts so if you join and then later decide it's not for you, you're not bound by that. We have classes mornings, afternoons and evenings and offer child care during several of them. Think you might wanna try it?

Congratulations on your success. We all know that regardless of our size, everyone needs to do some kind of cardio exercise. But if you don't have fun doing it, you will eventually burn out and quit. It sounds like you have found your niche. Keep up the good work!
