As you may be aware of, it is spring at the Paulding County Animal Control Facility (PCAC).

These are immediate needs - supply is very low or completely out of:
- Bleach (the normal shipment is not expected until at least Tuesday 5/6)
- Supplemental Milk/Formula (for puppies or kittens)
- Rice (white, fast cooking)
- Plain Yogurt (not low, non-fat or with fruit)
- Cat & Dog Treats
- Cat Litter

I'll continue to update the Master List as the ongoing/continuing needs list for your reference.

Shelter is open from 12 to 5 daily (except Wednesday).

Thanks for any assistance you are willing to do smile.gif

I have a question....can you use baby formula for the kittens and puppies? I know I get samples my little can't use, wondering if the animals could use them.

We picked up some extra items while we were at walmart buying dogfood for our own adopted pup... two GIANT things of Clorox (the biggest size you can buy) and a giant bag of dog bones... I will swing by tomrorow and drop them off!

Also, specifically what type of baby formula do you all need for the kittens/puppies. I don't want to buy the wrong kind! Just let me know when you get a chance.

Hubby and I went up there this afternoon and dropped off our goods... If anyone is looking for a puppy or kitten they have TONS and TONS of tiny itty bitty babies to choose from. We almost took a kitten home with us, but our other two kitties would have NOT been happy with us.

They were precious though!

They also had some golden retriver mix puppies that were the cutest I have ever seen. I might run up there tomorrow to snap some pictures to put on Pcom. Too cute.

"baby" formula??? I know a lot of the petstores (and some sections of the other stores where pet items are sold), have packages of kitten or puppie formula. I know what I've gotten in the past, comes already pre-made in packages or comes dry as well (which is usually what I get as all you do is add water). I'm sure whatever you find will be extremely appreciated!

Thanks for all who help!
It is SO appreciated! smile.gif

Yeah, apparently they can use actual infant formula for the kittens/puppies... I didn't know this either, but there is a post above (earlier in the thread) that talks about it.

yes, I know they can use "furry one baby formula" -- sometimes Mom's reject or can't find Mom, so they bottle feed --- hence the information I posted above ya! smile.gif

whatever you find will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! wub.gif

Hey everyone!

I went by the shelter today, and CreativeOne was there helping the furry friends as she always does on Saturdays. She told me these needs are still ongoing, so I wanted to bump this up as a reminder or encouragement to anyone who might want to help out. There are LOTS of puppies and kittens up there right now. I saw 4 nursing Moms, and another Mom and litter came in while I was there.

Please help if you can! wub.gif

Thank you all who have given to the PCAC & PHS!

Today, we had some WONDERFUL donations wub.gif - so very appreciated

As always ... the Master List posted at the top of this forum lists a few ideas of what can be donated. But below, I've copied my previous post, highlighting a current need = supplies are very low.

Thanks again ...

Bump! Don't forget those poor shelter cats and dogs that need to be taken care of this weekend.

Today you can bring up some of the items they need urgently and they will very much appreciate it.

As Creative One said: fast cooking rice, supplemental milk for the kittens, canned cat food, toys, treats, plain yogurt too.

Thank you!

Oh I have some powdered formula myself for babies. I will take it up there now that I know they can use it.

Someone else have any left that they can't use?

When you shop for your holiday cookout, please pick up some of the items needed. Those babies are not enjoying this weekend at all and depend on us to take care of them.

If you drive up the back driveway by the baseball field you can leave things by that gate and they will be found today.

YES!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Any "extra" medication will be taken by the shelter and I'm not sure they are all that concerned if it is still sealed or not.
You can drop off any time they are open - 12 to 5 daily (but Wednesday).

I will tell my wife Tracy and you will have cat treats and dog treats tomorow. But you can't let her have any more pets! We have 5 dogs and one cat and if you let her she would take them all home. She will be there tomorow afternoon.

Thank you to you and your wife! Everything is so appreciated and I hope she took some time to share what she brought to them -- that is the "fun" part of donating as each cage or run furry companions will give you the " ohmy.gif is that for me, thanks wub.gif !" look smile.gif

and as far as you not adopting more ..... we (I) can "promise" to check her pockets before she leaves, but no guarentee she won't find someone to bring home on her travels to you house! laugh.gif

THANKS AGAIN!

As mentioned in another post -- this is a duplicate post, but soooooo needs to be repeated ....

sad.gif .... supplies are so low .... sad.gif

Newspaper -- if you get the daily/weekly paper or even just the Paulding Neighbor, please save the newspaper for the shelter (coupons can be given to Cherry Pie), but supply is extremely low and it is so needed to line cages ..... Shredded (straight cut only please, no cross cut) is needed, but not as much as just plain newspaper.

Had a bag of rice donated (50#) but it is only expected to last a few days as the shelter is slammed ....
Yogurt in the same situation .....

Canned food is also very low -- and suppliments for the babies in coming is sad.gif (and yes, they are still coming in).

Any help passing the word is EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!!
Thank you!

Please if you have any plain newspaper (no ads) bring it to the shelter .
I took what I had & bugged my neighbors this morning, but it was gone when I left today sad.gif There was only a few sheets left ...
Also .... very low is:
- treats
- plain long grain white rice
- plain yogurt (no low fat, non fat or fruit)

canned food & supplement for kittens/puppies is appreciated too! smile.gif

and this request is gonna sound strange at first, but please read the explanation ...... does anyone have any cheap olive oil? The really really cheap stuff, not "virgin" anything type. A little can be used at the shelter. It is good to put on skin which is raw to help it "seal" and provide comfort. We got a wonderful donation of tree tea oil extract which can be added to the olive oil to help provide healing and comfort. Doesn't have to be much, but I thought I'd ask biggrin.gif

I have an entire garbage bag full of newspapers. Would you like them?

How can I get them to you? I will be at Braly fields this afternoon for soccer. Will the shelter be open?

Shelter is open from 12 to 5
If you need to drop off early than Noon, then you will need to go around to the rear entrance.
