I use
1 lb ground beef browned and drained
1 can (or two I can't remember) dark red kidney beans
2 cans of chilli beans (I use walmart brand)
1 can of rotell tomatoes and chillies
1 to 2 tablespoons of chilli powder (you can use the mccormick packet too)
mix in crock pot... simmer all daaaaaay.

I would love to give you my recipe but I don't follow one. I just start throwing stuff together. For some reason people love it. I make it for hubby's superbowl party every year. It's funny, more women show up for the chilli than men for the football.

I will try to think about it and get back to you.

Sounds great! Here are some variations:
Try deer meat instead of ground beef
Add an Emeril Bam with some Tobasco or Red Rooster
Some tomato paste will thicken it up if you like it that way
I usually add a chopped onion
Some people like bell peppers in their chilli -- I don't so I fix a separate batch

Some toppings I have out at my party are sour cream, cheese, and onions

The kids usually have a big glass of milk to drink. The milk-fat cuts the heat. I like mine HOT

Don't forget the saltines!

I do something like this:

2 lb ground beef/deer
2 large cans of diced tomatoes
2 small cans of tomato sauce
3 heaping TBSP chili powder
1 medium onion, chopped
2 heaping tbsp minced garlic
1 can kidney beans, undrained
2 small tomato-sauce cans of water
Trappey's Louisiana Bull Hot Sauce to taste

Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic, drain. Add all other ingredients and simmer for a couple of hours. The longer you cook it, obviously the better it is. And the Trappey's is what makes it!

Here's my recipe. I made this for a camping pot luck (don't ask some stupid queens idea to have a pot luck on a 4 day camping trip). None of the guys (about 25 of them) ate much of anything else. My chili pot was scraped clean when they were done and some people were upset they didn't get more.

CMW's Chili:

2 lbs of ground turkey, browned (do not drain what little water is produced by the fat free turkey will be good in the pot)
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes
2 cans of dark red kidney beans, drain all but a half can (the juice is good in the chili)
1 large onion, rough chopped
1 bag of the Brown Bag Chili Mix (yes I use it cause it's all the spices in one bag and you can decide how much cayenne you want to use)

I combine it all in a large stock pot and bring to a boil, I reduce the heat and if there's a need I add about a cup of water (that's usually enough). The longer you let it simmer the better it is but it's good as soon as it boils.

You could half the recipe for a small crockpot. Just set the crock pot on low.

This is a thick chili that I serve topped with shredded sharp cheddar and a dollop of sour cream with a cake of hot cornbread. Sometimes I'm a purist and sometimes I put a can of crushed green chilis and about a cup of whole kernel corn in the cornbread.

Bon Appetit

Chilli is easy to make.
Ground Beef (cooked)
Kidney Beans (or what ever beans you like)
canned diced tomatos
lg. can tomato sauce
Onion

adjust amounts to make as large or as small a pot you want
Then add the three peppers.
Black pepper
Chilli powder and
Red pepper (hot sauce, pepper flakes or what have you)
Throw the mess in the crock pot or on the stove, add more spice if needed.
We LOVE to add chopped hot dogs and cheese to ours too.
