Just wondering.

Let's hear your analysis of the TCC EP game.

I was not one of the posters that went back and forth with RR. I am genuinely interested in hearing his thoughts on the upcoming game.

Sorry havent been around much lately and I thought this thread was in jest anyways. Since most people around here don't like me.

I'm hoping to make it down for the game, I am trying to clear my schedule for work Friday and leave around 2 hopefully and bring the youngster with me for a ride companion. Its a long drive to Thomasville but I am interested to ride there as I haven't been to that area in over 10 years. That school has some awesome tradition.

From what I have gathered about TCC from talking to a few people is they will be very disciplined, I know Coach Pilcher and he is as good of a coach as it comes in high school football. Keys to stopping their offense are not biting on the fakes, They will run the QB (Williams) and RB(Smiley) all game long and they are a very nice duo. I would expect us to load the box most of the game, I would try and let them beat us thru the air. Smiley is a bruising back who has speed, he is a touchdown machine. This offense scores a lot of points, I feel better though about getting in a shootout as EP's offense has really started to click better in the last few games, especially the passing game. TCC's D will be fast and they have a few big boys on it at the LB position that can hit. The OL needs to play well, it seems like they got beat consistently all night against Mays, luckily it didnt matter. These DB's will be better then Mays, those fade routes might not come as easily. EP's D needs to be ready for mis-direction plays. I think it will be an outstanding game. Not sure who I like in this game as I think EP will play well and TCC is pretty talented. Hopefully EP pulls it out, it will be tough but these boys have been perfect so far this season maybe they can keep it going.

I think that is a pretty fair assessment. I think we are playing our toughest opponent of the season Friday. But I also think TCC is as well. I think we should load the box and play man on the corners. I think our corners are athletic enough to cover TCC's WR's. We’ll probably start out in 4-4, but might go to a 50 front, if they move the ball too well.

I have heard that TCC's weakest link on D is their secondary. Perhaps we can get the ball to our WR's down the field. I think that will be key. I think we'll run okay, but if we are to win this game I think it is our passing game that gets us the points. We just have too many good WR’s for them to cover all of them at once.

I think we are bringing the best defense that TCC has seen all year. Their running game will be tough to stop, but our boys are very tough and resilient. I think that TCC is so used to being successful offensively, that if we stuff their offense early and often, frustration will set in.

I also think that we are facing the best coached team we have faced all year. But, so are they. Our coaches will make real-time adjustments to stop them, and I don’t think that Pilcher can win a game of football chess with Coach Reid.

I think we win: 24-10.

After reviewing both teams schedules, I will step out on limb and say that we are the better team as a whole. I think we have played a little tougher schedule. The toughest team TCC has played was Cairo, a AAA team. I would like to see that film to see what they did to hold TCC to 17 points.

All we have to do is stop two of their players. They have to stop our whole team.

I think we win this game and make believers out of the whole state.

The Raiders will have their hands full. The Offense that TCC runs isn't anything to be taken lightly. I played in it at Carson Newman College and it will catch you off guard if your not paying attention. TCC's QB coach was the Starting QB at CN when I was a freshman there, the man knows how to run and coach the Split Back Veer Offense. I look for TCC's QB to be just as smart and as good as Leonard Guyton was while he was running the offense at Both TCC in high school and at Carson Newman in College. The best thing that we got goin for us is that Coach Hammontree also played ball at Carson Newman, so I'm guessing he has something in store for TCC Friday. It should be one of the best games of the year to be played in the state of GA. Neither team will give up and will fight til the end. So I guess I'll see most of you Raider Fans down in Thomasville on Friday.

One thing I do disagree on is the schedule, Mays is a very good team.

TCC played Cairo and Bainbridge who are still in it in AAA, they are very good and would compete well in AAAA. Thomasville is a great AA team who would probably be in the final 8 of AAAA, they have the best DT in the state and some other outstanding players.

So schedule wise you cant really say EP played a tougher schedule I would take those 3 teams over the ones EP played.

bainbridge is AAAA.glad to see u not being ugly about any of the players on this post.some people on here ain't as disciplined in public when they see a person that's been talking bad about their son.
ep has played as tough a schedule as anyone else.tcc doesn't have a great defense and ep should score 28 or more.tcc has only faced one good defense all year--cairo.they finally wore out the AAA team because of depth issues.same w/ thomasville---not enough depth to play AAAA--they were worn out by 1/2way thru 3rd qtr and tcc went on to score 28.as far as AAAA defenses......everybody they've faced has given up avg of 18+pts/game.will be a war!!!
go east!!!
