On my laptop, FireFox gets stuck. Here's what happens, I can be surfing online. Then FireFox will just stop working. I can be on here, checking email on Yahoo, Gmail, pretty much any website. I'll click on a link to read a topic here, or to log in after entering login information. Or even just opening the website. Also another issue, when trying to get on here, sometimes it takes a few minutes to actually get on here (either loads very slowly or needs to refresh several times).
Even right now, the bottom of the browser screen is saying "Transferring data from www.paulding.com." Sometimes it will say that even though the screen looks fully loaded. On here or other websites, or the screen will load 1/2 way then continue to say "Transferring data from www.xxx.com."
When it does finally stop responding, I'll either need to close the browser by clicking on the X, or need to use the task manager to shut down FireFox. But it will still show as running in the task manager. Sometimes I can still run another instance of FireFox (or several). Eventually it will happen again, and when it does I can sometimes runs another instance of FireFox or need to restart the laptop. If I go to the task manager, it can have 5-6 instances of FireFox showing. Sooner or later (anywhere from 1 - 6 instances of FireFox showing in the task manager) I'll get a message saying "FireFox is already running, please close FireFox and run it again." or something like that.
I then need to restart the laptop, when I do it can take 5-6 or minutes for the laptop to just shut down. Once it does shut down, it starts up normally.
I can run Firefox for 2-3 minutes before it hangs or up to 5 or more hours. I have a firewall (Zone Alarm), Norton AntiVirus, and Threatfire running. So I really doubt I have a virus or spyware running.
This first started about a month ago. It only happened 2-3 times in the first two weeks, then has become much more frequent.

I fantasize about my dogs having jobs. I pretend that both of them are window cleaners and their kennel is their first starter home. I think the bigger dog is trying to bump off the smaller dog so he can have the kennel to himself. I know I have a problem, but don't animals have to earn a living too?
Dogs may not be our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.
The more I see of humans, the more I admire dogs.
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
The dog is a gentleman, I hope to go to his heaven, not man's.

Hey ihave2dogs,
I would probably suggest doing a backup of your Firefox bookmarks, uninstalling it completely and reinstalling the newest version (currently 3.0.5). To backup the bookmarks section, head to Bookmarks, Organize Bookmarks, and go to "Backup and Restore".
Download the newest version and install it- you can restore your Bookmarks from the backup file you've previously created.
If the problem keeps up (especially with how your PC is taking as long as it is to shut down), it might not be just a Firefox problem. We'll be reopening after the holidays on Monday- if the problem keeps up you'll want to check it in and have some diagnostic testing done. We check the hard drive, motherboard, memory and processor for problems first and find out exactly what is causing the problem you're having.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Paulding Networking has been my hero for a long time.
Let's see all that they have done for me. They have made 3 house calls. Two were to set up my wireless system. (hubby fried my first router) Then I can't remember what the 2nd house call was for. They found me a driver for my printer to make it work with my Vista laptop. I got a new laptop key board enstalled. They are have prices that are great.

Loyalty is not the essence of patriotism, by the way, Liberty is the essence of patriotism- Heigh ho Silver
A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old. It is easy to love children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children. But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless are the true gold mines of a culture.
