I need ideas, so PCOM, What is the best cake, pie, sweet dessert for you?

If by chance you have a recipe, I'll take that also.

here 'tis:
(you can cut this in half and make a smaller sized pan...that's what I do anyway)

3c. Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 1/2 stick margarine melted
1 8oz. package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cups sugar
1tsp. vanilla flavoring
2 pkgs. dream whip topping mix
1c. milk
2 cans cherry pie filling.

Combine cracker crumbs and melted butter, mix well with fork. Put 1/2 crumbs in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Blend cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla together. Whip topping mix with milk for about 2-3 minutes. Pour whip topping into cream cheese mixture. Spread half of the mixture over the graham cracker crumbs, then add 1 can of cherry pie filling. Repeat: graham cracker crumbs, cheese mixture, and cherry pie filling.

YUMMY YUMMY!!!

Creme Brulee. Nothing on the planet is better. It ain't easy and there are a ton of recipes. You don't need to be a graduate from Culinary Institute of America; but on the other hand you need to have mad skillz in the kitchen.

This cake is soooo good and fairly simple to make.

http://kraftfoods.co...recipe_id=91361

Best-Ever Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 1 hr 30 min

1 pkg. (8 squares) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, divided
1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
4 eggs
1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1 tub (8 oz.) frozen COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
2 Tbsp. PLANTERS Sliced Almonds

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Grease two 9-inch round baking pans. Chop 2 of the chocolate squares; set aside. Beat cake mix, dry pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, oil and water in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed just until moistened. Beat on medium speed 2 min. Stir in chopped chocolate. Spoon into prepared pans.
BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks 10 min. Loosen cakes from sides of pans. Invert onto racks; gently remove pans. Cool cakes completely.
PLACE frozen whipped topping and remaining 6 chocolate squares in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 1-1/2 min. or until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is smooth, stirring after 1 min. Let stand 15 min. to thicken. Place one cake layer on serving plate; top with one-fourth of the chocolate mixture and second cake layer. Spread top and side with remaining chocolate mixture. Garnish with almonds. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

My grandmother's Jewish Apple Cake - I don't have the recipe. And, I haven't had it since my grandmother's funeral - she had some made in the canning room - after her funeral, we all sat around the dining room table, eating cake and missing her dearly. Somehow, though, it was like she was still with us. I really miss my grandmother.

If you are in a hurry for your fix, heat 1 small can of sweetened condensed milk and melt two cups of chocolate chips in it. When it is all melted, mix in a tsp of vanilla and nuts if you want and let cool in the refrigerator. Sometimes only fudge will do.

I'd love a recipe for Derby Pie.

You just can't beat a good old fashioned pecan pie.

I like it best warm with a glass of very cold milk.
