For the record Myanmar is the politically correct name for Burma and Yangon is the politically correct name for Rangoon. Apparently a military dictatorship, in an effort to build support for their regieme, changed the name of Burma which they felt reflected the influence of the English during the colonial period.

Many in the world, including the United States, British and some others continue to call that geographic location Burma and reject the authority of the military dictatorship to arbitrarily change the name.. Myanmar is the accepted by the UN and, notably France; hence the use of Myanmar by the Agence French Press, the author of the story.

The country could stand some positive public relations. For instance, this is the lead entry in the English Wiki:
