I'd recomend the Wingate, Jameson or the Holiday Inn Express out on the NW Side. There is also a new motel across from the Wingate, I think it is a fairfield, but not sure. I've stayed at the Sleep Inn (needing an update) and Quality Suites (Merry Acres) both are ok, but not as nice as the other three. The Wingate is always the 1st to book up in Albany and the online price is better than the called in reservation.

FYI, You want to stay on the NW side of Albany (Mall Area).

Which side of Albany are they playing on? When we go down for Special Olympics, we stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It's new, right by the river side park and aquarium, and civic center. It was really nice. We walked directly across the little side street to the park and river every day. Although downtown, we never had ANY problem. We've stayed there the last three years we've gone. Just an option.
