I love it ! It's nice not having to wait on progresss reports to come home to see how they are doing. My son is not very good about bringing home weekly papers.

Thank goodness they didn't have this when I was in school !

Abslolutely love it! I can see what classes my child needs to bring his grades up in. I can also see by homework grades if hes doing his home work. thank you whoever came up with it. (my son of course hates it)

Yeah, I think it is one of the best things for parents, so that if they want to know then, they can just pull it up on their computer.

The teachers may not have posted any grades on your child yet. I know when I pull up my children's that some are that way also and some have the grades listed. Maybe they just have not got around to listing your child's grade, give them time .

Yes, I have been able to check my sons at EPMS and EPHS

As a teacher I love it also. It is an easy way for parents to check their child's progress. I try to post at least once or twice a week to keep them up to date. Glad to hear so many of you are using it and enjoy it!! Thanks!

How do you know the student's ID #?

It's the same # they use for lunch, library, etc.

You may have to ask your child, that's how I got my son's ID#'s.

Yep Kudos to the BOE on that one.
I have been using it since last year myself. I do sometimes have trouble logging on but I think it might be during peak use hours.
My son however HATES it. Especially last year when that is how I caught him skipping school

I think I might have misunderstood this the first time I read it, sorry. If you are talking about EPMS website, I have not been successful with that site either

I've been advocating something like this for years now. Good job BOE.

It's a shame not all parents in the county care about checking their child's grades. It's time we get the responsibility back on the parents and students and allow the teachers to teach instead of being babysitters. A teacher can't force any child to study and do homework, that's the parent's job.

Keep up the good work parents, keep watching your kids.

chemmie... it's a complete shame some parent's don't seem to care a bit about day to day stuff... just the final grade... i would venture a guess that's why their children feel the same... i know plenty... my child is out of the district this year and i don't have this luxury... i soooo miss it...i guess if the parent's are teaching mediocracy its tough to blame the kids.. i have a dear friend who had a bf who would blatently say he could care less about grades as long as his children passed.. no accountability...and while i am on my soapbox... the schools, by implementing dress codes and not enforcing... are teaching our teens the same thing.... rules are made to be broken... i think not! why do the schools bother to set boundaries if they are not going to enforce them? do they not understand this does more harm then just saying come as you will?

2 years ago I had to go down to Hiram High because they said my son was skipping ( the telephone thing when they call you )

My son kept telling me it was wrong !

I chose to believe him because I was driving him to Hiram every morning and he knew that if he didnt want to go he could always ask me.

Anyway, the next time that viewer said he was not there I took a drive. I walked in and asked them to pull him out of class and bring him to the office that I wanted to speak with him. What do you know....he came to the office.....then I told them somebody was "busted" and to bring down the one that calls role in the morning. I met with him and my son together and told the homeroom teacher that if he is tardy put tardy....not absent for the whole day.....

He corrected a total of 3 absences....

Told you I don't put up the schools....

I would be calling now. This is a great tool and I think all teachers should be using it to their own advantage. No longer can parents complain that they didn't know their child's grades during the school year. No more "he/she never brings any papers home!" excuses.

Then again, the teacher has no room to complain if they aren't using the new technology and resources.

I don't understand how a parent wouldn't know how their kids were doing in school. Everyday when I get home, I go through their folders, see the grades they are getting on their tests and such, I see their behavior folder. Grated, they are still very young and I have access to see these things, just seems that if the parent is involved with the childs education, they should already know how they are doing. Just my $.25

Last year my daughter was in EIP and had a different teacher for math. For some reason her math grades weren't being recorded and she had a failing grade when she actually should have had a "B". If I hadn't been able to see the grades then I wouldn't have known. I thought it was correct since math is a very hard subject for her.
Everyone needs to check the missing grade section.
After I brought it up all the grades got fixed. I'm glad her teacher had the grades wrote down.

I need a little help here my daughter, a Kindergartner from Dallas Elem got her first Yellow mark of her little life today(I check her folder when I take her to ASP)
The teacher said she was playing in the bathroom when I asked her about it she ducked her little head, smiled at her friends @ ASP(thinking I could not see her)and said she was not playing in the bathroom? She is always a perfect angel with others does she have me snowed already? Do I drop the hammer?

If that is your first yellow, you are doing good!! My oldest son, has at least one yellow every week. His punishment when he brings home yellow is he has to do homework before going outside to play. We have been told, from the Allgood perspective, that yellow is not bad, just that they weren't "angles" so to speak. I wouldn't think too much of it if this is the first occurance, outside of letting her know that you are a little disappointed. Just my opinions though.

Seriously, I respect jboogie opinions from post's that I have read. I am her only parental form(aka-single mom) and do not want to be to soft on her. I think I will just discuss briefly( without a smile on my face) and drop at that.

Anyway, if my kid comes home with a yellow, somebody will have to pick me up off the floor because I will be fainting dead away!

She got on her "second green" last week and I almost fained at that! My sweet little princess! On her second green! There must be evil afoot at that school. E-VIL!

And incidentally, I figure if she has made it to second grade on green, she can stay on green...........I might have to revise that policy at a later date though.
