Hello! Does anyone know where a 3 year old can sign up for t-ball or even football? Noah will be 3 next week and he wants to play ball! I was even thinking about maybe karate. Any ideas are welcome!!

We have been very happy with the Hiram Ruritan. We only do baseball but overall they are great. We have been there for 5 years and the past couple years they have a great president and members that have really made a huge difference. I don't know that they start at 3 though , I think it is 4. If Paulding gymnastics starts that young Charlie is great with kids.

Call Parks and Recreation. There is a program called "Start Smart" for 3 - 5 years old and it is an introductory parent interactive program to teach the fundamentals of various sports. There is also karate for tots both at Mt. Tabor and Taylor Farm Parks. The phone numbers are
Mt. Tabor 770-505-3885
Taylor Farm 770-222-3270
While focused on life's destination....enjoy the journey!!!

Two of my boys played tiny tots up at the Hiram Ruritan, you can check with them, I think a lot of the parks offer it, but it was a few years ago when we did it.

Mermaidmom, thanks so much for posting those numbers! I called Taylor Farm and they have a ton of things for little guys to do! I think my little man is gonna take karate! It's only $18 for six weeks. I can't imagine why anyone would subject themselves to teaching a group of 3 year-olds (especially boys) ANYTHING...much less something disciplined like karate...but it should be interesting anyway! My son is going stir crazy since his big sister went back to school.

They are about to start a soccer "camp" right now for the little guys, by the way. They said that they wouldn't have another baseball camp until next spring/summer and that they would do basketball in the winter. All for 3-5 year olds! They also have a tumbling class that just got started last week for that age group. A new class will start in two weeks.

Thanks for the info!

Dallas Youth Association that plays out of Sara Babb park has tiny tots in the Spring. Registration is the last 3 Saturdays in January, last year we had registration at Sports A Rama at the Paulding Plaza.

The Cobb YMCA has programs for 3 year olds. Soccer and T-Ball are two that I can think of.

You just missed the sign up for soccer in the West Metro Association (Paulding). It'll be coming around again in the Spring.

For those tikes under 6, they play 3v3 so they all get a chance to play on the field. No goalie so they make about 30 shots a game. Of course, they run around like a train on a track but it fun watching 'em!

Here's the link for the West Metro Soccer Association. Bookmark it.

Don't forget swimming lessons - West Cobb Aquatic and Rountree Recreational.
Paulding Gymnastics does take little guys and Charlie is great with all of his kids.

Yea, but you could pick up a 3rd world disease in the Hiram park bathrooms! We've played there. It's beyond disgusting. It's appalling. If the park's bathrooms can't be brought up to sanitary standards, the park needs to be closed post haste.

Mikey,
If you get on the good side of the folks at Hiram Ruritan you can use the inside bathrooms that they keep clean for special folks -
I think I would rather use the porta potty at the trail before I would use the outside bathrooms at Hiram Ruritan

Mykidsmom,

Do you know if you have to live in Cobb in order to take lessons at the aquatic center?

By the way, Noah is playing fall ball at Ridge Road. He's having to play with the 5 & 6 year olds since not enough 3 & 4 year olds signed up.

He came home last night from practice all muddy! The first game from the Ridge Road Rockets will be on September 18th. I can't wait! smile.gif

If you do not live in cobb you have to pay a higher fee for the lessons - they have different levels for 3-5 year olds. I paid $51.00 for 8 - 30 min. lessons - 2 times a week for 4 weeks, they start new at the 1st of each month.

Rountree recreation 770-443-1187 in Hiram also does lessons - I think $65.00 for 8 - 45 min. lessons - 2 times a week for 4 weeks also and she is trying to get swim teams started for children. Since my children think they are fish, we are going to try the swim team, if she gets enough of response.

We are also playing fall ball - out of California park and were moved up from tiny tots to tee-ball. Hope to see you on the field - mine will be the one playing in the dirt. Oh I forgot - this age all play in the dirt.

Noah will be the one in the bright red batting helment, black pants and of course, red belt. He pitched a fit when he had to have black pants - he wanted red ones to match his hat.

Hope to see you at the game!

Thank you for the information.
