A big congratulations to the HHS Band of Gold one one INCREDIBLE competition tonight in Bowden!! The band walked away with Best of Class for Percussion, Band, Drum Major and Color Guard. Then finished the night off with the 1st Place overall Percussion Championship!!! They competed in AAA this year and beat out 14 bands and 3 large AAAA bands to finish as 2nd Place Band overall! A band from Valdosta with over 220 winds and another 20 or so color guard beat them out of grand champion by two points!!! An amazing undertaking for our "smaller" band this year!!! Way to go BOG!!!!!
While focused on life's destination....enjoy the journey!!!

You all are truly awesome. biggrin.gif
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure if you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

biggrin.gif The kids were great. I know us parents had a great time watching them and seeing how happy they were after the competition. Great job Band of Gold and Dr. Davis and Mr. Minter, you all should be proud.

Congratulations!!! I saw the lineup of bands to participate at that competition. Central of Carroll has become a perennial powerhouse and Newnan has always had quite a reputation so to "out-do" them is a very large accomplishment. I did not see any of the competition shows, I was only there for the festival portion. Hiram High School should be proud of their accomplishments! Sounds like the Dr. Davis of old!

Hey, let's not forget WHY the percussion section was #1. We owe a huge thank you to MR. KOHELEY!!!!! There is no one better than him in the southeast and we are very fortunate to have him in the organization. We're especially fortunate that he chooses to drive more than an hour from his home school to work with our kids.

Absolutely correct, Flashthunder!!! He is an amazing "coach" as well! Hats off to Koheley, Kayla Cochran and Bud and Kaylee too! There are alot of instructors that go into making a great program and sometimes those wonderful folks remain nameless but never forgotten!!!!
