Here is a delicious summer salad. Easy to make after all the vegetables are chopped. It has a snappy crunch with a sweet and sour taste.

Broccoli Salad

1/2 pound bacon
1 head of broccoli
1 head of cauliflower
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 large red onion
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Cook bacon till crisp, crumble, set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli and cauliflower,
cheese, bacon and onion.
Prepare the dressing by whisking together the red wine vinegar, sugar, pepper, salt,
mayonnaise and lemon juice.
Add the dressing to the salad and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate till ready to serve.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure if you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Sounds de-lish!!!!

We make one similar that uses brocolli, cauliflower, tomatos, bell pepper, vinegar, and miracle whip. Make it a day in advance and let it get very cold.
